You have:

  • Fluency in Ukrainian.

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) works to promote durable solutions and strengthen capacities of duty bearers, stakeholders and local communities in Ukraine. The organisation provides policymakers, key ministries, legislators, and civil society groups involved with internal displacement with direct and concrete assistance in ensuring protection that mitigates the effects of displacement.

DRC Ukraine is looking for experienced Project Assistant for office based in Kyiv. Also Lviv or Chernivtsi city could be considered as duty stations for this position.

Overall purpose of the role

  • Provides administrative and technical support within the project.
  • Assists the project team in ensuring quality of the planning, implementation and follow up of project activities.

This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and technical guidance to country operations.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Assist in arranging procurement procedures and completing contractual processes for consultancy services in accordance with the DRC policies and regulations and Ukrainian legislation.
  • Ensure full support in securing payments to individuals and legal entities delivering services to the project in accordance with the DRC policies and regulations and Ukrainian legislation.
  • Contribute to maintaining regular communication with contracted experts and consultants, including carrying out internal coordination meetings and tracking the progress of assigned tasks.
  • Assist in organizing online and offline events, including covering preparatory assignments, providing technical support during events and following up on their outcomes.
  • Ensure collecting and systemizing project-related technical data for further processing and sharing with the project team.
  • Contribute to drafting, translating and proofreading project documentation in Ukrainian and English.
  • Ensure effective cooperation with the DRC programme and support staff while fulfilling project assignments.

About you:

We expect you to have minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an NGO setting.

Required experience and competencies:

  • Advanced university degree in public/business administration, management, logistics or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience in administrative tasks, including filing systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Experience with following standard procedures and guidelines.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian.

We offer

Contract length: till 31 January 2023 with possibility of extension based on available funding (3 months is a probation period).
