This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

In accordance with the organizational mandate and national development priorities of Ukraine, the United Nations Population Fund implements a country programme of technical assistance to Ukraine for 2018-2022. The programme focuses on the needs of adolescent girls, young people with disabilities and those who have suffered from armed conflict, as well as key populations for HIV prevention. The programme is aimed at contributing to strengthening the national and subnational partnership frameworks for reducing gender inequalities in social, economic and political spheres of life, as well as strengthening national gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response mechanisms, including in humanitarian settings.

Alongside this development work, UNFPA is implementing its GBV Response and Prevention Programme, which aims to strengthen security and protection of women and girls from GBV by transforming social norms that condone GBV, improving access of survivors to quality assistance and developing coordination and accountability mechanisms at the national and local levels.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of GBV Services Capacity Development Coordinator, the National UN Volunteer will:

• Contribute to implementation of GBV Programme activities, in particular strands related to improvement of equitable access of GBV survivors to survivor-centered services, providing high quality support to programme caretakers; • Provide logistical support to programme activities (missions, training sessions, workshops, conferences, study tours) including making arrangements for travel, accommodation and venue, effectively communicating with providers and participants; • Assist with programme procurement of goods and services, ensuring that procurement is conducted in accordance with UNFPA Procurement Procedures; • Draft and translate letters, meeting minutes, briefs, presentations and other documents necessary for programme management; • Assist with preparation of Terms of Reference (TORs), Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) for project assignments; • Facilitate Individual Consultants recruitment process, collect the documentation required for the hiring and contract extension, induction of consultants into the programme and issuance of payments for the accepted deliverables; • Collect and record information on programme activities, including making timely inputs to GBV Programme Monitoring Tool, and contribute to the preparation of relevant progress reports; • Assist with producing media materials on activities for placement on UNFPA social media and website; • Perform other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

• Procurement and contracting (Mandatory) • Administration and administrative assistance (Mandatory) • Experience of working for international projects of technical assistance (will be an advantage). • Advanced computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google cloud applications). • Gender equality and the advancement of women (Optional).

As it is a national UN Volunteer's assignment, the volunteer shall organize his/her accommodation by themselves. Entitlements of National UN Volunteer (Specialist)

The contract lasts for the period indicated in the vacancy with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment.

Allowances: • Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) USD 1180 (equivalent in UAH) is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses.

Medical and life insurance: 1. Medical insurance: National UN Volunteers and their family (maximum 3 of their dependents) are covered by a medical insurance scheme for the duration of the assignment to cover medical treatment costs incurred during the assignment. This includes permanent disability insurance. 2. Post Service Medical Coverage: Health insurance of national UN Volunteers and their family (maximum 3 of their dependents) extends one month after the last day of the national UN Volunteer Contract date to assist with reintegration into national healthcare schemes after their service is completed. 3. Life Insurance: National UN Volunteers are covered by life insurance for the duration of the assignment. In the event that a national UN Volunteer dies during the UNV assignment, the designated beneficiaries will be entitled to receive the life insurance lump sum. Leave entitlements: 1. Annual leave: National UN Volunteers accrue an entitlement to annual leave at the rate of 2.5 working days per completed month of assignment. However, a national UN Volunteer can at no point during the UNV assignment accrue more than 30 days of annual leave. 2. Certified Sick Leave: Sick Leave which is certified by a qualified medical physician is charged to the national UN Volunteer’s balance of certified Sick Leave days. The maximum balance of certified Sick Leave days for the respective Contract is calculated on the basis of 2.5 working days per month of the Contract duration and can be used at any point in the assignment. 3. Uncertified Sick Leave: Uncertified Sick Leave is leave that is not validated by a certificate from a qualified medical physician. National UN Volunteers on more than 6-month contracts may be absent on the basis of uncertified Sick Leave up to a maximum of 7 working days. For contracts duration of less than 6-months, UN Volunteers are eligible to 4 working days.
