Technology innovation and AI in education is one of the thematic priorities of the Education Sector under the 39C/5 Programme and Budget 2018-2021 as well as the 37C/4 Medium Term Strategy 2014-2021. The ICT in education activities contribute to the achievement of four Expected Results through the development of ICT in education policies, leverage technology-enabled innovation in education with a focus on AI in education, reinforcement of teachers’ digital skills and competences, and promotion of Open Educational Resources.Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Education, the guidance of the Director of Future of Learning and Innovation Team and the immediate supervision of the Chief of Unit for Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Education (ED/FLI/ICT), the incumbent will, in particular: - Support administrative tasks related to the management of the UNESCO ICT in education projects. - Assist in the implementation of programmes/projects/activities/international conferences of the Unit. - Provide administrative and organizational support for large events, experts’ meetings, as well as technical workshops. - Liaise with partners and stakeholders of Mobile Learning Week, the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education and UNESCO-Huawei Funds-in-Trust project on Technology-enabled Open Schools for All, as well as other projects, and assist with the preparation and dissemination of advocacy materials. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education*** - Completed secondary, technical and/or vocational education. ***Work Experience*** - Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in administrative and/or secretarial tasks. - Experience in providing administrative and organizational support for large events. - Experience in programme support. ***Skills and competencies*** - Good interpersonal and communication skills. - Good organizational and coordination skills. - Discretion, good sense of judgement and capacity to deal efficiently and tactfully with people of different cultural backgrounds. - Ability to work as part of a team and to provide quality and timely support and services. - Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities. - Excellent IT skills with proficiency in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) - Good drafting skills in English. - Ability to work in a multicultural environment. ***Languages*** - Excellent knowledge of English (both written and oral). **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- ***Work Experience*** - Previous experience with UNESCO and understanding of the Organization, including its administrative procedures and financial process. ***Skills and competencies*** - Knowledge of UNESCO rules, integrity, professionalism, administrative procedures and standard practices. ***Languages*** - Good knowledge of French(both written and oral). - Knowledge of another official language of UNESCO (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish). **BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS** ----------------------------- UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc. For more information in benefits and entitlements, please consult [ICSC website.](https://icsc.un.org/) **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
