Programme Support Officer - Youth Development

Eligibility criteria
Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader of the Livelihood and Poverty Reduction Unit of United Nations Development Programme in Laos, with dolted reporting line to Youth Programme Specilist of UNDP Laos and BRH, the National UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Project Implementation:
- In coordination with the UNDP Laos Country Office and the Bangkok Regional Hub, and after consultations with partners (current and prospective), draft and finalize the 2019-2020 Youth Co:Lab Laos detailed work and financial plan;
Oversight and support the Youth Co:Lab Laos initiative and youth project on day-to-day operations and implementation with active monitoring and evaluation of project activities;
Actively assist in managing innovation proposals as well as budgets and financial resources allocated to the project;
Maintain the project financial record;
Assist in the preparation of project reports (technical and financial) Coordinate the inputs of UNDP Laos and BRH, and other partners into the agenda, and coordinate the management for Youth Co:Lab Laos events; and
- Act as the Youth Focal of UNDP Laos
Partnership Management and Communications:
- Provide regular project updates to the UNDP Laos Communications Team and the BRH Youth Team, to ensure media presence;
Prepare social media plan for the whole year and be able to produce digital content to boost youth engagement.
Collect and keep track of youth-related practices within UNDP Laos, including the
innovation and youth partners database;
- Draft speeches, talking points, presentations and other relevant matterials needed by UNDP Lao CO for advocating for youth development relevant to various sectors in Laos;
- On a case to case basis, prepare outreach materials associated with innovation, youth and public-private partnerships (i.e. PowerPoint presentations, brochures, etc.) as needed
UN Volunteer may also be tasked with some CO-wide activities, as cleared by the Team Leader, Management Support Unit.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
- Bachelors degree in finance, development, international relations , communications, media or related fields in social development
Required experience:
12 Months
Experience remark:
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience on youth development field.
- Proven experience in collaborating with various international development organizations, preferably also with private sector, in reaching out and engaging with traditionally marginalized groups (e.g. youth, minorities).
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in youth empowerment and engagement
- Motivated to contribute towards youth empowerment and development and to serve others;
- Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
- Flexible and open to learning and new experiences;
- Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions;
- Intermediate in spoken and written English is required;
- Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).
Language skills:
