Contract
This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.
This volunteer assignment is supported by the Swiss Embassy in Tunisia as part of an initiative in partnership with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program to enhance youth inclusion, with a focus on the inclusion of young people with disabilities (2024-2026). Therefore, applications from young people with disabilities who meet the required qualifications are strongly encouraged.
UNFPA Tunisia is preparing for a new program cycle while continuing to expand its portfolio in key areas such as SRH, GBV, youth empowerment, and evidence generation. To support this expansion, the UNFPA Tunisia country office is seeking a motivated national youth UN Volunteer to contribute to the effective implementation of youth and SRH-related activities. The assignment will primarily focus on administrative and logistical support for events, workshops, and missions, as well as procurement, travel, and consultant coordination. A smaller portion of the role (less than 25%) will involve basic programmatic support related to youth and adolescent SRHR activities.
Under the supervision of the Youth Programme Consultant and the SRH Programme Analyst, and in collaboration with the Operations team, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Event and Workshop Support • Help identify and book appropriate venues for youth- and SRH-related events and workshops. • Coordinate with service providers (e.g. catering, interpretation, printing). • Prepare materials (agendas, lists of participants, printed content, visibility materials). • Provide on-site logistical support during events and workshops. • Organize attendance sheets and feedback forms, and support follow-up actions. • Submit service provider invoices via internal systems (e.g. AODocs).
Travel Support • Assist with travel planning and documentation (travel requests, profiles, claims). • Coordinate with travelers and admin assistant to ensure compliance with travel rules. • Help follow up to ensure timely submission of post-travel documents and claims.
- Procurement and Supplier Coordination • Help draft purchase requests and purchase orders in QUANTUM. • Collect required documentation from suppliers (quotes, invoices, tax certificates). • Track and report on delivery of goods and services.
Consultant and Contractual Support • Assist in preparing documentation for hiring of consultants. • Support contract follow-up and ensure deliverables are received and processed. • Help with payment processing by verifying documentation.
- Light Programmatic Support (less than 25%) • Assist with youth and SRH program activities, such as organizing field visits or compiling simple data. • Help prepare presentations, notes, or basic reports related to SRHR and youth participation.

UN Youth Volunteer gets the following package: • Volunteer Living Allowance (around 1788.53 TND./Month) • Entry Lump-Sum = USD 400 (one-time payment paid in TND) • Comprehensive coverage for health, life and malicious acts for the UN Volunteer only. • Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment) TND 186.3 for each month served, paid on completion of contract. • Access to UNV E-Campus for training and learning including access to LinkedIn learning.
