Result of Service The contractor will be required to give weekly updates/briefs on assignments in meetings with the Senior Regional Coordination Officer and Team Leader, a.i. The contractor will submit reports on the dates outlined in the list with deliverables and submission dates.

Deliverables - Delivery report, on a monthly basis, to the DCO Senior Regional Coordination Officer and Team Leader a.i. on the development and impact of the activities and products generated.

Duties and Responsibilities DCO provides managerial and oversight functions for the Resident Coordinator system. The DCO Office for Latin America and the Caribbean supports 42 countries and territories across Latin America and the Caribbean; DCO LAC serves as the first port of call for Resident Coordinators and their offices. They also serve with UNDP and the Regional Commissions as part of the joint secretariats for the Regional Collaborative Platforms and ensure connectivity between global and country initiatives.

The Development Coordination Office created the Data Management Officers Network to provide support to the function of UN Resident Coordinators Offices. There are 26 Data Management and Reporting Officers serving in the Offices of Resident Coordinators to support UN Country Teams with Results Reporting and data management who work together in a Regional Data Management Officers Network. Data Management Officers in UN Resident Coordinators Offices provided substantive support for the development of UNCT Data and Research strategies and assist in the design and implementation of the UNCT’s data and research strategy in alignment with the Common Country Analysis (CCA) and UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).

Qualifications/special skills Candidate must have a master’s degree in development, international relations, Strategic Planning, Governance, Political Science, or a related discipline. Candidate must have at least three years of experience working for or with international organizations Experience in Governance, Strategic Planning, and Development Coordination. Work experience in Latin America or the Caribbean and understanding of the political context, governance challenges, and other key issues confronting Latin America and the Caribbean Region. Candidate must possess strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft suite. Graphic Design and PowerPoint or other Presentation skills. Knowledge of the UN Resident Coordinators System is highly desirable. Training or certification in Results Based Management would be an asset.

Languages Excellent proficiency in oral and written Spanish and English is required for this assignment.
