Our current work plan runs from 2021 to the end of 2024 and aims to ensure that children and adolescents enjoy their rights through equitable access to social services, improve their learning and live protected from all types of violence.

We work throughout Colombia, with special focus on the departments where children have fewer opportunities: Chocó, Cauca, Nariño, Antioquia, Córdoba, Amazonas, Putumayo, La Guajira, Caquetá, Atlántico, Arauca and Norte de Santander.

How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance of the Deputy Representative, the NOC Programme Specialist, as Outcome Manager, is responsible for the program, planning, design, implementation, administration, monitoring and evaluation of the migration result, ensuring overall efficiency and effectiveness, as well as the delivery and fulfillment of the outcome goals and objectives, defined in accordance with the Country Program Recommendation and the Country Program Management Plan, focused on the achievement of UNICEF Priorities.

As a Technical Lead of the Education programme, is responsible for providing technical support to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all stages of Education programing and related advocacy from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable results. This person will be accountable for identifying gender inequalities in education and for developing innovative approaches and programmes to eliminating inequalities, and will contribute to synergize the work of United Nations agencies in Education for all Goals incluiding in humanitarian actions , working closely with the Education cluster within the inter-agency standing commitee (IASC).

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree in one or more of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Education, Primary Education, Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or another relevant technical field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in related matters

  • Prior experience in programme management functions.
  • Experience in coordination of sectoral groups and political dialogue with authorities.
  • Previous experience effectively working with government and partner organizations in Colombia.
  • Humanitarian: Background/familiarity with Emergency preparedness and response, and/or working with vulnerable communities is an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Ability to be flexible and hard-working, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications e.g. MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to analyse data to decision making.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
