You have:
- Advanced University degree in management, Social Sciences, Human Nutrition/Food security, preferably with supplementary courses in project management, Nutrition, or closely related fields.
- At least five years of professional experience in progressively responsible roles in Advocacy and advisory support to government, essentially relating to Education, Nutrition and Food security.
- Fluency in English language is a must.
- Fluency in Pushto is desirable.
- Sound understanding of economic and social issues in the context of Pakistan, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
- Technical knowledge in displacement and vulnerability issues, data analysis, information management and coordination.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
This job is based in Peshawar closely liaising with Department of Elementary & Secondary Education & Health Department for advocacy and technical support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government including newly merged districts, on matters relating to joint projects under annual development plans of Government, policy advocacy and funding opportunities relating to Education and Nutrition PC-1's, with reporting line to WFP Provincial Nutrition and Education activity manager.
JOB PURPOSE
To maintain close coordination and extend advocacy & technical support, advice to the relevant Government departments, Planning & Development Department (P&D) on matters relating to Education and Nutrition strategies, policies and programs covered under relevant strategic outcomes of WFP Pakistan Country Strategic Plan (CSP).
To provide timely advocacy to and to identify funding opportunities from the department of Elementary & Secondary Education and Health relating to Nutrition and Education. To keep close coordination with WFP Education and Nutrition teams and identify the potential strategic partnerships opportunities under the government annual plans as well as the medium and long terms strategies. To position WFP as a preferred partner of choice for Government under immediate, medium and long-term plans of the KP Government.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Ensure close coordination with Office of the Elementary & Secondary Education and Health Department on policy advocacy and funding opportunities relating to Nutrition and Education initiatives in the KP province. Actively support and extend technical assistance and advocacy support to the Education and Nutrition line departments on key policy matters under government annual development plans. 2. Take initiatives for positioning WFP as preferred partner of choice for the provincial government and potential donors in the KP province. Timely follow up on Annual Development Plans and PC-1s to incorporate WFP mandated Education and Nutrition strategic priorities. 3. Enable WFP to timely access to the KP Government’s key policy documents for review and technical inputs relating to Nutrition (with support of provincial Nutrition head) and Education strategies. Consistently advocate and ensure WFP strategic objectives reflected in relevant government policy documents, highlighting the added value of WFP's technical strengths in Nutrition Research, Assessments and Evaluation. 4. Actively collaborate with the education and nutrition working groups and techncial forums. Positioning WFP’s strategic priorities relating to Education and Nutrition sectors. Ensure adherence to WFP priorities under humanatarian and development, relating to Food security/Nutrition and Education. 5. Closely work with the clusters/working groups securing organizational stakes in key decision makings. This includes maintaining liaison with other UN agencies including UNESCO, FAO, UNDP, UNICEF, WHO and all concerned line department of the KP Secretariat, including erstwhile FATA Secretariat mainly; Planning & Development, Education, Health, Bureau of Statistics etc. 6. Actively support the monitoring and coordination mechanisms established under the Government for timely tracking the progress relating to WFP’s priorities e.g. FS/ Nutrition/Education Strategic reviews, multi-sectoral strategies incorporating Education & Nutrition. Assist the WFP team on required improvements in terms of planning, coordination and monitoring of the targeted project results annual work plans. 7. Timely inform the WFP team about government's plans for any assessments in KP including erstwhile FATA. Assist the WFP provincial Nutrition,Education and VAM teams; as required, in deliverance of the planned scientific studies (both baseline & impact studies) of WFP intervention under CSP including the documentation of evidence, qualitative and quantitative analysis and timely coordination with educational/ research institutes/ consultants. 8. Actively participate in the Education and Nutrition specific technical meetings and coordinate with all relevant stakeholders as delegated (e.g. coordination and communication with the provincial government, nutrition/health and education cluster, cooperating partners and UN agencies for efficient implementation, monitoring and timely identification of potential risks and mitigation measures for achieving desired organization goals) 9. Assist policy level initiatives and programme i.e. CS FS and Nutrition Strategy, SPRING PC-1, Cash Stipend PC-1, Merger updates, Ten Year Socio Economic Development Plan, Working Groups, BISP nutrition/education programme and/or other as required by the competent authority and Provincial Office WFP. 10. STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree in management, Social Sciences, Human Nutrition/Food security, preferably with supplementary courses in project management, Nutrition, or closely related fields.
Experience: Overall, at least five years of (relevant) Professional experience in progressively responsible roles in Advocacy and advisory support to government, essentially relating to Education, Nutrition and Food security or similar system, involving experience of working with management specifically in planning, execution, and coordination. Working with government /UN agencies in KP/merged districts at Secretariat level.
Language: Fluency in English language is a must, fluency in Pushto is desirable.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Sound understanding of economic and social issues in the context of Pakistan, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Aware of government specific contextual needs, policy directions and immediate, medium and long term plans. Applicant is expected to have understanding of different coordination mechanisms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa/erstwhile FATA under the government and UN systems. Advanced computer skills, including at least intermediate skills in windows based word processing, spreadsheet and database. • Ability to analyze data and statistics for the analysis of food security indicators ability to conduct assessments particularly in organizational capacity; Able to produce high-quality written reports and present it to senior management; • Technical knowledge in displacement and vulnerability issues, data analysis, information management and coordination.
