You have:
- Advanced university degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or first university degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
- Minimum three years of post-graduate professional experience in project lead responsibility, knowledge of humanitarian and development programming and technical knowledge in General Food Assistance/Food Security/Cash Based Transfers or First University degree in the same subject(s) with minimum five years of post-graduate professional experience in relevant fields.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic.
- Proven experience in change management, including initiating and managing change management activities.
- Demonstrated experience in liaising, collaborating and coordinating with external and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work on short timelines, under pressure, and managing multiple priorities simultaneously with minimum supervision.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The GFA Officer will support the GFA Activity Manager, assisting in the design, oversight and management of the activities across the GFA programme cycle. The post holder will work closely with the Field Offices and across the different units of the country office (for example CBT, Supply Chain, Finance, VAM & ME, Gender) to ensure due attention to all aspects of GFA program design, management and implementation. Also, the GFA Officer closely works with relevant units and support enhancing WFP’s collaboration with other actors, including UNHCR and other UN and NGO partners.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs of refugees and other crisis-affected populations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the direct supervision of the Activity 1 / GFA coordinator, this role will have the following responsibilities: 1. Support the development of General Food Assistance (GFA) projects, plans, activities (Cash-based Transfer (CBT) and in-kind) and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies, standards and guidance. This includes but is not limited to accountability, implementation and reporting. 2. Assist in managing GFA programmes and projects, including but not limited to planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, working closely together with other relevant country office units on targeting, beneficiary database management, nutrition, accountability to affected population (AAP), protection and gender aspects. 3. Contribute to formulating needs for assessments, monitoring and research activities to strengthen the GFA activities and enhance evidence of the outcomes of the GFA activities. 4. Contribute to related analysis of aspects relevant to the programme such as beneficiary criteria and adjusting transfer values when applicable. 5. Take the lead on implementation of potential related projects such as building financial literacy and financial inclusion for beneficiaries. 6. Support advocacy and donor-related initiatives 7. Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects and highlight potential risks to project delivery. 8. Participate in internal and external meetings as required, including interagency fora, meetings with service providers and cooperating partners. 9. Substantially support and co-manage existing partnerships of WFP Jordan, including being responsible for aligning workplans of partners with GFA overall workplan and activities. 10. Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships for improved food assistance activities. 11. Contribute to and later lead the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on GFA programmes and activities as requested that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders. 12. Development of SOPs as required. 13. Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through providing inputs into training materials. 14. Other relevant activities as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced university degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or first university degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
Experience: Minimum three years of post-graduate professional experience in project lead responsibility, knowledge of humanitarian and development programming and technical knowledge in General Food Assistance/ Food Security/ Cash Based Transfers or First University degree in the same subject(s) with minimum five years of post-graduate professional experience in relevant fields.
Previous UN experience, preferably with WFP, is highly desirable.
Language: Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
