Under the general guidance of the supervisor, the Communication for Development Officer is accountable for technical support and assistance in the design, formulation, management, execution, monitoring and evaluation of a behavioural change and social mobilization strategy, plan of action and programme activities in support of the country programme: https://www.unicef.org/lebanon/communication-development-c4d

How can you make a difference?

1. Effective knowledge management and systems, information exchange and the development of training and orientation materials developed and deployed for strengthening of Youth and Adolescent (YAD) programme management and activities.

2. Situation Analysis prepared/updated, critical YAD programme intervention point/measures identified, and programme work plans/recommendations prepared and incorporated. YAD Programme reports prepared as required.

3. YAD funds optimally used.

4. YAD Programme monitoring and evaluations effectively conducted to improve programme performance, and programme status reports timely prepared.

5. Rights-based and results-based programming approach fully incorporated into all phases of YAD programme and projects processes.

6. Commitment and institutional capacities of the national and local partners gained and established.

7. Rights perspective and advocacy at the community and family levels incorporated in policy analysis for establishing and elevating UNICEF’s credibility in national and international policy debates.

8. Effective partnership and collaboration achieved and maintained for advocacy, technical cooperation, YAD programme development/management/coordination, information sharing and networking.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education:A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Education, sociology, psychology, educational management, or another relevant technical field..
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in the Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon is required.

    Field work experience is considered as an asset. Background/familiarity with emergency is considered as an asset.

  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic required. Other UN Language is an asset.
