The Position:

The Programme Management Support Coordinator (PMSC) ensures the effective management of UNFPA activities across result areas in PNG to accelerate the achievement of the ICPD Programme of Action and Agenda 2030. You will lead the programme management and monitoring support work in the UNFPA PNG Country Office.

You will provide support directly to the Programme Team in close collaboration with the CO Management and CO Operations Team of the UNFPA PNG CO. The Programme Coordinator substantively contributes to the management, coordination and quality assurance of planning, implementation, monitoring and results reporting of the PNG CO.

Under the overall guidance of the UNFPA Representative and the direct supervision of the Deputy Representative, you will contribute to expand the range of UNFPA deliverables in PNG within the ICPD agenda, based on the 7th CPD priorities in collaboration with implementing partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

Advanced Degree in public policy, international development, public health, population studies, economics, sociology or other related social science discipline.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of programme management support
  • Prior experience in working with the UN/UNFPA on programme management support and coordination is an advantage.

Languages:

Fluency in English is mandatory. Other UN language(s) is an asset.
