As an active MINUSMA Trust Fund team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to MINUSMA Trust Fund and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including:

• Provide needed support to the Trust Fund Manager in order to ensure the continued smooth approval and implementation of projects, • Participate in the entire project management cycle (Conception, Implementation, monitoring and evaluation), and to contributed to the quality development of projects, • Work with all components of the mission and thereby built a good understanding of the work of the mission.

Under the direct supervision of the Trust Fund Manager, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

• Support with the review of project proposals and related documents, and their preparation for submission to the Project Review Committee. • Ensure comprehensive and regular monitoring of projects in coordination with leading sections and field offices, including ensuring the timely reception and review of M&E documents. • Support with the provision of guidance to lead offices and partners on the Trust Fund procedures. • Support with the review of project agreements, MoUs with the Government, substantive
interim and final project implementation reports etc. • Support with the establishment of plans and tools for the Monitoring and Evaluation of project implementation. • Draft memos, request business partner numbers and provide other administrative and financial support tasks as and when necessary. • Draft minutes of meetings and take charge of the appropriate follow up as and where needed. • Support with donor liaison efforts, i.e. updating of donor profiles, organization of field visits, participation of donors in hand-over ceremonies etc. • Support with the de development of communication materials about the Trust Fund. • Any other tasks that may be required, including translations. • When working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-)governmental counterparts, the incumbent should set aside dedicated time for training, coaching, mentoring and capacity development.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications; Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Bamako is a non-family duty station with a difficult security and working environment. Mali is a non-family duty station. Living conditions are acceptable in Bamako, but security instructions need to be strictly complied with. Adequate housing is available for rent at US$ 300-1000 per month. The national currency is the Franc CFA (February 2021 exchange rate was 1 US$ = 540.6 FCFA). Visa credit cards are accepted in some hotels and larger shops. Mali is a country prone to malaria, so mosquito nets are highly recommended. Basic medicines are available from pharmacies, but provision needs to be made for specialized medication. Security recommendations from the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) must be followed by all UN Staff in the course of their assignments in Mali. Appropriate measures are in place to mitigate the current security risk for UN personnel in the country. All UN Volunteers, like all UN personnel, undergo a security briefing and the 3 day mandatory training “Safe and Secure Approaches in Field Environments” (SSAFE) upon arrival, where practical guidance and recommendations are provided regarding security threats in Mali. An additional security briefing is provided upon arrival to the final duty station. A welfare committee is also active in all duty stations to ensure sufficient access to welfare commodities, including food supplies. Emergency contacts (security, medical, staff counselling, UNV Office) are made available for all UN Volunteers upon arrival, and each individual is provided with a VHF radio and a call sign, which can be used at all time. For the sake of rewarding experience, UN volunteers in MINUSMA carry out their duties with flexibility, commitment, and a willingness to live and work in challenging conditions including heat and limited water and electricity supply.

Since the breakout of the COVID19 pandemic, all United Nations staff are required to implement the distancing and sanitary measures at all time.
