The overall objective of UNEP's Economy Division is to encourage decision makers in government, local authorities and industry to develop and adopt policies, strategies and practices and technologies that promote sustainable patterns of consumption and production, make efficient use of natural resources, ensure safe management of chemicals and contribute to making trade and environment policies mutually supportive. The Division promotes the development, use and transfer of policies, technologies, economic instruments, managerial practices and other tools that assist in environmentally sound decision making and the building of corresponding activities. On 1 March 2022, with the approval of the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) Steering Committee and the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) Management Board, a new governance arrangement was implemented whereby the Head of the GGKP Secretariat was combined in a shared position with the Head of the PAGE Secretariat. In support of the new GGKP Head of Secretariat, and reflecting the additional need for operational support to this shared position, the GGKP Steering Committee and PAGE Management Board recommended the creation of a Coordinator of the GGKP Secretariat position.
The position is located in the Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) of the Economy Division at the Geneva Duty Station. Under the direct supervision of the Head of the GGKP Secretariat, and the overall supervision of the Chief of the Resources and Markets Branch, the GGKP Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the GGKP Secretariat including day-to-day programmatic and operational needs. The Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities - Develops, implements and evaluates assigned GGKP programmes; monitors, evaluates and reports on the GGKP project document, including logframe and workplan, through UNEP administrative modalities; facilitates midterm and terminal reviews with inputs and feedback; liaises with relevant parties or partners; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and initiates corrective actions; ensures appropriate follow-up actions. - Coordinates GGKP support to decision makers in the green policy, green industry and green finance communities, including the generation, management, sharing and application of green growth knowledge from the GGKP Secretariat and GGKP Knowledge Partners. - Organizes and facilitates meetings, workshops and other interactive sessions including GGKP Annual Conferences and GGKP Expert Group meetings with institutional partners and project stakeholders; provides substantive backstopping such as proposing agenda topics, identifying participants and preparation of documents and presentations; manages related stakeholder follow-up actions. - Reviews, analyzes and presents knowledge generated from diverse sources including the activities of the GGKP Secretariat, Knowledge Partners and relevant third parties. - Coordinates and prepares written outputs for UNEP and other GGKP Steering Committee members as necessary such as draft background papers, sections of reports and inputs to publications and GGKP governance meetings. - Initiates and coordinates outreach activities to GGKP Knowledge Partners and the broader green growth community through communications, social media, newsletter subscriptions and webinars. - Improves GGKP programmatic and fundraising strategies through web analytics, team meetings and retreats, and partner surveys. - Coordinates activities related to resource mobilization for core GGKP programmes including grant preparation and submissions, progress reports and financial statements; prepares related documents such as project frameworks, work programmes and programme budgets. - Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. - Performs other duties as required.

Education Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
Work Experience A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area with least five (5) years of which has been acquired in an international organisation or public institution is required.
Experience in leading / managing global multi-institutional partnerships is desirable.
Experience in coordinating research and knowledge management on green growth / green economy issues is desirable.
Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
