Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
Description of task
Within the delegated authority and under the overall supervision of Programme Steering Committee, the UNV Programme Management Officer will:
- Act as the focal person of the programme:
- Develop, implement and evaluate programme plans and activities.
- Oversee daily operations and set priorities for managing the programme.
- Monitor and analyze programme development and implementation at all stages, including the analysis of implementation difficulties and initiating remedial action.
- Provide periodic progress reports on programme implementation, including fund utilisation.
- Review, prepare and provide inputs to relevant documents and reports related to the programme.
- Coordinate activities related to budget and funding; identify resource needs and participate in the development of resource mobilisation strategy.
- Liaise with relevant offices of the Commission; identify, document and track follow-up actions.
- Lead and participate in planning and accountability meetings.
- Provide substantive and administrative support to the programme:
- Undertake research and analysis to inform the strategy, work plan and activities of the programme.
- Coordinate, facilitate and support the programme’s work and activities across different offices and countries.
- Organise meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and events, including developing agendas, identifying and inviting participants, preparing documents and presentations, making logistical arrangements and providing event support.
- Serve as secretary of the Steering Committee and Advisory Committee; prepare agendas, minutes and decision documents for Committee meetings.
- Lead and manage the procurement and purchase of equipment and supplies needed by the programme.
- Plan, manage and implement marketing, communications and outreach activities of the programme.
- Develop and maintain online and social media presence for the programme; create campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules.
- Support and contribute to recruitment, training, team-building and related activities of the programme.
Educational additional comments
A first-level university degree in community organizing and advocacy, communications, management, business administration, economics, social sciences or a related field.
Experience remark
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required
- Experience in programme/project design, management and reporting using results framework is desirable.
- Knowledge and ability to use computer software and applications for data processing, quantitative analysis and presentations is desirable.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
Language skills
- English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- French(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
