You have:

- Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
- Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Expected duration
3 to 6 months and the desired start date is 15 February 2023 or sooner.
Duties and Responsibilities
The internship is UNPAID, full-time (35 hours per week) for three to six months. The intern will work in a hybrid arrangement in New York, United States, or remotely. The duration and modality can be adjusted based on the request from the successful candidate and in line with operational needs.
The Office for Coordination and Shared Services ODCSS exists to coordinate and facilitate collaboration within the Peace and Security Pillar, and to foster an organizational culture that is inclusive, innovative and effective. The intern will report to the Political Affairs Officer.
The intern will support the organizational culture that ensures inclusion, innovation and effectiveness through the “Building Our Pillar” programme.
The intern will support the team in: Implementing activities in accordance with the Building Our Pillar action plan on staff engagement, including the MyCareer initiative, the Gender Parity Action Plan and the Disability Inclusion Action Plan. Collecting, analyzing and visualizing quantitative and qualitative information. Updating online information related to staff engagement activities. Assisting with the preparation of weekly newsletters and other communications. Supporting change management initiatives. Coordinating and assisting with specific events. Other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications/special skills
We seek candidates with any of the following background: communications, management, data, human resources or related subjects.
The basic education required is HS Diploma.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Applicants who have previously served six months, in total, as an intern in one or more UN Common Systems cannot be engaged as an intern.
Applicants who are children, siblings, and sons or daughters-in-law (including stepchildren, half-siblings, or stepsiblings) of an active staff member in a UN Common System cannot be engaged as an intern.
