Duties and Responsibilities
This internship is located in the Programme Management Unit (PMU) within the Programme Monitoring and Support Service Division (PMSSD), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The PMU provides guidance and ensures overall coordination of all aspects (planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation) of programme management. It also ensures the follow-up to and implementation of the recommendations of United Nations oversight bodies. The PMU provides guidance and ensures overall coordination of technical cooperation, and promotes synergies between normative and operational work of the organization. It serves as a secretariat of the Working Group on Technical Cooperation and supports resource mobilization for technical cooperation activities. It coordinates with other Regional Commissions and other United Nations entities on programmatic and technical cooperation issues. The intern reports to the Programme Manager Officer in charge of Technical Coopearation in the Programme Management Unit, and will perform the following duties: • Assist in preparation of the UNECE annual report on technical cooperation. • Assist in planning and reporting of UNECE technical cooperation activities implemented under the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) in 17 UN programme countries. • Assist in drafting country briefs. • Draft briefing notes, summaries of meetings, and presentations. • Support to UNECE programme planning, reporting and evaluation in UNECE. • Support to UNECE programme planning, reporting and evaluation in UNECE. Support tasks related to the work of the Programme Management Unit and Programme Management & Support Services Division as required
