Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of UNRSF, the incumbent is expected to contribute to the work of the UNRSF Secretariat as follows:

• Supporting research and assisting in the preparation and active participation in meetings and workshops with project teams across diverse geographical locations; • Supporting in project management activities, including monitoring, evaluation, and the review of project reports; • Supporting the establishment and development of strategic partnerships, involving background research and communication with partner agencies; • Supporting in improving and managing databases of project information, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information and maintaining master Excel documents essential to project operations; • Supporting in internal and external communications with project stakeholders to follow up on project progress; • Supporting in coordinating meeting schedules, draft meeting minutes in an accurate, organized, and concise manner; • Performing other duties as requested.

For this role the following skills/experience are strongly desired:

• Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse and synthesis information from various sources. • Basic understanding of project and document management principles and event facilitation. • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and willingness to take on new challenges. • Strong attention to detail and an ability to propose effective solutions. • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. • Strong oral and written communication ability in English. Fluency in French, Spanish considered an asset.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: - Applicants to the United Nations internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); Be computer literate in standard software applications; have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; Applicants for all countries are accepted and under-represented or un-represented countries in the UN are encouraged to apply. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages

Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Fluency in French, Spanish considered an asset.

The internship is for a duration of 6 months with a starting day as soon as possible. Completed online application (Cover letter and Personal History Profile) is required. The selected candidate may start the internship online.
