Duties and Responsibilities
The internship is located in the Office of the Secretariat of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety (Special Envoy), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Special Envoy, the incumbent is expected to contribute to the work of the Secretariat as follows: - Undertake research to support identification of potential partners and to inform activities of the Special Envoy; - Draft articles, briefing notes and other outreach communications to help raise visibility of the global road safety crisis; - Undertake research on initiatives that illustrate the nexus between road safety and other SDGs; - Support the events, campaigns, projects and activities planned for the Special Envoy; - Support the relevant activities on social media; - Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications/special skills
Candidates must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required.
