Contribute to UNEP's coordination with European Commission

You have:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in international relations and development, environment, social development or equivalent field
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience working in project and contract management with the European Union institutions and a UN entity, private and public sector or academia
  • Knowledge of the EC contractual framework and the Financial and Administrative Framework Agreement (FAFA) is required
  • Working experience and support to verification missions and RER processes carried out by the EC is desirable
  • Working experience in partnership building with large donors is desirable
  • Knowledge of the broader UN system and working experience with other UN entities, considered a strong asset
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required
  • Fluency in oral and written French is an asset

Result of Service Contribution to the coordination mission of the European Commission-UNEP Strategic and Programme Cooperation Agreements and other matters pertaining to the cooperation with the European Commission. The deadlines for delivery will be defined by the Head of CSD EC Programme Management Unit in due time.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP's Corporate Services Division safeguards UNEP’s corporate interests by providing it with tools and plans for efficient and effective management and by managing its exposure to risk. It does so in line with the core values of the United Nations as well as all other relevant rules, regulations, and accountability requirements. This consultancy is located in the Corporate Services Division, and reports to the Head of EC Programme Management Unit in Brussels.

Languages a. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
