Resource Acquisition

  • WV South Sudan Programme has a continuous stream of funding for projects and donor proposals/reports are submitted on time and to the highest level of quality.
  • Resource acquisition work of WV South Sudan supported towards achieving the annual income target
  • New opportunities assessed for potential risks and robust go/no-go decision guidelines and signed risk assessment protocols facilitated
  • Support donor engagement towards unsolicited funding, including donor meetings, and other donor engagement activities.
  • Coordinate with Regional Response Resource Acquisition Team
  • Coordinate with Support Offices for Response Funding
  • Updating Regional SCRAMER Grant Matrix
  • Multi-departmental team convened and coordinated to design and develop new proposals and concept papers to bilateral and multilateral donors for assigned geographical zone
  • Quality and timely submission of concepts, proposals, reports, and amendments
  • Business Development Manager and PDQA and Partnerships Director supported in building a robust proposal pipeline for assigned geographical zone
  • Needs of the assigned zones supported and unsolicited ideas and concepts proposed when relevant
  • Development of Regional Projects (ADH) supported
  • Efforts to grow Germany and EU Donor Funding Portfolio supported

Partnerships and relationships management

  • Partners for new proposal development engaged the process well-coordinated.
  • Due diligence and partners capacity assessment processes supported
  • Selected partners engaged for all inputs for new proposal development
  • Signing of Partnership Agreements facilitated when new projects are secured
  • Partners and partner orientation included in start-up workshops
  • SOs and DMT engagement for Match Requests handled per policy

Grants quality and compliance

  • Donor and SO reports are complete, compliant and submitted on-time
  • Grant amendments or revisions during the implementation period supported
  • Resource acquisition processes and protocols for tracking reports well managed (Box and Horizon)

Knowledge management

  • All funding opportunities tracked on a monthly basis using Horizon and resource acquisition department tools
  • All new award project documents organized and stored safely for easy retrieval and use
  • After-action reviews for proposal development processes effectively organized
  • Relevant teams are engaged in building evidence-based project models and approaches that are vital to communicating project impact.

Support to Strategy Development and implementation of GAM Business Plans

  • PDQA Director and Business Development Manager supported in the annual business planning and forecasting
  • SCREP/SCRAMER pipeline opportunities and observed donor trends reports prepared and submitted
  • Information on crisis response fundraising activities prepared and submitted on time

Qualifications:

Academic qualifications: At least a Bachelor Degree in development or a related field

At least 2 years of previous experience contributing to project design, proposal writing and donor relations for an INGO in a relief and / or development context.

2. Experience developing programs and proposals in the following fields preferred: Health & Nutrition, Food Assistance, Economic Recovery & Livelihoods, and Education, Children in Emergencies, WASH, and Protection.

3. Excellent verbal and written English abilities

Strong abilities to network with colleagues and external stakeholders

4. Experience working with United Nations agencies

5. Experience with supporting development of multi-country proposals

6. Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.

7. Willingness to work and travel to hardship locations.

8. Strong knowledge and understanding of the humanitarian industry (relief, development, and advocacy), including how INGOs operate in the global and local contexts.

9. Good networking skills.
