ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Regional Bureaux (RBs), Country Offices (COs), Area/Field Offices (AOs/FOs). Job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or Head of Field Office. At this level, job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate support staff.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Ensuring high quality donors reports are submitted in a timely manner and to ensure reports meet donor requirements. 2. Training and informing communities and community leaders about the Cash assistance. 3. Conducting interviews with beneficiaries on site during distributions and performing monitoring and evaluation activities. 4. Supporting training and capacity building of humanitarian partners and national actors on livelihoods. 5. Coordinating preparation of field level agreements, budgets, reports and monthly payments. 6. Assisting in composing “Request for Proposal” for service providers. 7. Preparing monthly consolidated operation reports reflecting updates, challenges and recommendations for each distribution cycle. 8. Creating a detailed tracking system and distribution schedule of key programme tasks for the monthly cycle and enforced systemized processes between programme and Payment Instrument unit for documenting and responding to beneficiary posts/complaints on social media. 9. Reporting on monthly planned, distributed and redeemed distribution figures for monthly strep and other unit reports. 10. Other as requested.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor's degree in Economics, Social Science, Political Science or any another related functional area.

Experience: A minimum of 6 years of working experience in development projects, emergency responses, humanitarian assistance.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.). • Has contributed to implementation of programmes. • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.

Emergency Programming Displays capacity to provide inputs into the development, implementation and realignment of high quality emergency programmes. Strategic Policy Engagement w/Government Understands and applies basic principles of engagement with government counterparts at the national or local level.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Duration of Contract: 11 months

Net Salary Per month: As per the WFP salary scale for Service contracts & Special Service Agreements

Medical insurance: The Medical insurance coverage will be granted by WFP (cost is shared between the contractor and WFP)

Death and Disability: SSA holders must be covered for service incurred disability/injury/death, at no cost.

Working hours: 5 days a week (Sunday to Thursday), 8 hours per day.
