  • Experience in primary data collection and/or field monitoring activities, including design, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Fluency in written and oral communication skills in both English and Myanmar.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide cross-functional support to the day-to-day food security analysis (50% under assessments) and programme monitoring tasks (50% under monitoring) to inform programme design and implementation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) team in Nay Pyi Taw, the Programme Associate (RAM) will perform the following duties:

1. Support planning and implementation of research, assessments, and programme monitoring activities on measuring needs and effectiveness of all food assistance interventions (e.g. beneficiary needs and status, food security status, programme modalities, implementation challenges, etc.).

2. Contribute to the implementation of assessment and monitoring activities through:

  • Supporting the preparation of tools using WFP’s corporate system.
  • Coordination and communication with WFP country office and field office staff and local partners on sampling and data collection related budgets.
  • Liaising with WFP country office and field office staff to conduct training of enumerators as part of data collection preparation.
  • Working closely with WFP field office staff in following up with data collection status through data quality dashboard collection, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency to build a credible evidence base.
  • Data analysis.
  • Supporting the drafting of reports to ensure timely dissemination to relevant audiences.

3. Build, update and maintain databases of food security, socio-economic data and develop mechanisms by which such data are disseminated to other programme units at the country and field offices levels and to partners.

4. Ensure the data management system aligns with data protection and privacy policy for all data including beneficiary database, monitoring data, geographic information, etc.

5. Perform other related duties as assigned.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. First University degree in Statistics, Economics, International Affairs, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science or Social Sciences.

Experience: At least 6 years of relevant work experience. Experience in food security analysis an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills Experience in the use of statistical software (R, SPSS, Stata, or Python) and ODK-based tools. Experience in primary data collection and/or field monitoring activities, including design, data collection, and data analysis. Database management skills. Experience working in a team of different nationalities and/or cultures

Languages: Fluency in written and oral communication skills in both English and Myanmar
