You have:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- University degree in International Development, Political Sciences, Economics, Food Security, Agriculture, Public Health/Nutrition, or other related fields.
- At least Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience.
- Two (2) years in the field of research, assessment, monitoring and/or evaluation.
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
- Knowledge of French language is an added advantage.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The post is based in Beirut CO and the incumbent is to report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide effective specialized support to the monitoring and evaluation team and technical analyses to programme activities that effectively meet the needs of the most vulnerable.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the supervision of M&E officer, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:
- Support the M&E team in the monitoring and evaluation of activities under the current Country Strategic Plan (CSP 2018-2022), and this in close coordination with WFP’s activity managers and liaising with the appropriate counterparts as needed.
- Provide technical support and assist in the monitoring and follow-up on various activities and processes within the specific area of work supporting alignment with wider programme implementation and in alignment with WFP policies and procedures.
- Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analysis (such as reports on process monitoring, outcome monitoring, specific elements of interest, etc.) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
- Collect and summarise assistance programme(s) data, collaborating with internal counterparts, cooperating partners, and government institutions when/where required, conduct analysis and prepare reports in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
- Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government within the specific technical area.
- Provide standard trainings for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to independently self-monitor and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
- Suggest and validate improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient implementation of the assistance programmes.
- Support the development of M&E guidance materials, tutorials and training materials for country office and field office staff and partners.
- Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical area of responsibility.
- Oversee and/or review data collection processes on the field and manage data cleaning, data analysis and reporting
- Draft timely, accurate and detailed reports on activities including reports on activity results.
- Other support activities as necessary.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education. University degree in International Development, Political Sciences, Economics, Food Security, Agriculture, Public Health/Nutrition, or other related fields. Experience: At least Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, including two (2) years in the field of research, assessment, monitoring and/or evaluation. Experience using a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools such as SPSS and/or STATA is a must.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French language is an added advantage.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- Previous experience in humanitarian and/or development contexts.
- Very good experience utilizing computers including Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Very good analytical and writing skills.
- Very good statistical analysis skills.
- Good experience utilizing statistical processing tools such as SPSS and/or STATA.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of several statistical tools and methods used in food security monitoring and analysis.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of M&E standards.
- Ability to maintain accurate and precise records, well organized.
