At WFP, we are looking for talented Programme Associate (M&E), in our offices in ( 01 Kassala, 02 Khartoum, 01 El Obeid ) in Sudan, to be hired on a Fixed Term Contract at the G6 level.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Contribute to the development and updating of process and outcome monitoring tools including digitisation of the tools using corporate software and open source software like ODK, Kobo, Ona etc.
  • In collaboration with other M&E team members, coordinate ad hoc studies like baselines, needs assessments, midterm assessments and end of project evaluations for resilience and safety nets programmes.
  • Analyse data from process and outcome monitoring as well as ad hoc studies.
  • Prepare reports on process and outcome monitoring activities as well as ad hoc studies and assessments to track programme performance and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
  • Contribute towards corporate reporting internally and to external stakeholders including donors through timely provision of information on resilience and safety nets indicators.
  • Liaise with internal counterparts (Country Office Technical Units, M&E, Area Offices & Field Office staff) to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions including Third Party Monitors (TPMs) to ensure appropriate monitoring of programme activities.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff in Area/Field Offices (AOs/FOs), cooperating partners and national government staff in the field of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Conduct field visits to programme sites to assess project progress as well as compliance to standards and guidelines.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Completion of secondary school education and a post-secondary certificate or diploma in the related functional area and five years of working experience in a related field. Language: Fluency in both English and Arabic.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for food security and livelihoods programmes, climate changes and resilience as well as safety nets programmes.
  • Experience in analysis of quantitative data and recommending improvements to programme interventions
  • Experience in producing reports with status of results.
  • Experience in data collection, monitoring, evaluations and assessments in the field.
  • Experience, on interactive data visualization, and reporting techniques
  • Good technical knowledge and hardware skills such tablets and computers
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision, attention to detail and a drive for accuracy in the information produced, client oriented attitude are the core qualities the incumbent will possess.
  • Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access…)
  • Knowledge of statistical application such as SPSS, STATA or other data analysis packages will be considered an advantage.
  • Dynamic, and enthusiastic with the ability to think outside the box.
