What will you do in this position?

The Programme Associate (Data Analyst) will work under the guidance of a lead data analyst and report to the Head of Digital Solutions in WFP Ukraine Programme unit. The Digital Solutions team members are tasked to support the programme in Ukraine by leveraging technology to deploy and innovate with rapid, impactful additions to the programme cycle. The job holder will utilize technical data skills (e.g. SQL, Python) to ensure data assurance standards and provide timely support to the day-to-day operations. They will use technical know-how, data analysis, and problem-solving skills to assist WFP in creating a clearer picture of who we are serving.

How can you make a difference?

1. Assist in developing verification checks and algorithms to maintain standards of beneficiary data quality. 2. Support on data centralization and cleaning as required on beneficiary data. 3. Carry out de-duplication tasks to retain single entries for all unique beneficiaries. 4. Support ensuring consistency across data sources and audit trail on beneficiary data management. 5. Act as the first line of support for all users, helping with any questions, resolving issues, and escalating when needed to Regional Bureau and HQ. 6. Support maintaining user Dashboards including the ingestion of data and development of reports. 7. Assist with Data Assurance assessment of the current data flow from the FSP, frequency, formats, and technology used, providing expert advice on beneficiary data risks (e.g. identify potential risks in beneficiary/payments data exchanges) and opportunities for mitigation, proposing a target data/systems architecture to Country Offices. 8. Support the implementation of systems to automatically ingest data into corporate platforms and the customisation of reporting solutions. 9. Assist to perform changes and enhancements to the FSP data models at the Country Office level, for reconciliation and reporting purposes. 10. Any other tasks as required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or another relevant field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience: • Experience working with large data sets and summarizing data for business. • Experience working with relational databases and query authoring with SQL. • Experience with excel and dashboards. Knowledge & Skills: • Familiarity with Big Data, data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. • Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy etc.). • Intermediate SQL skills for data analysis. Ability to capture facts and stories from data and translate them into insights. Familiarity with various ETL/ELT tools is desirable. • Familiarity with Data Governance principles and best practices. Languages: Ukrainian (fluent), English (fluent), any other UN languages is a plus
