JOB PURPOSE

To achieve Strategic Outcomes of WFP’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for 2023-2027, the SDGs- Policy unit has important responsibility to guide policies and programmes on key decisions related to food security through evidence generation and information management. There is a lot going on in various Working Groups such as Food Security & Agriculture WG (FSAWG), Intersectoral Coordination Group (ISCG) for flood response, CBTWG, Resilient Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Framework (4RF), Refugee Response Plan (RRP) etc and UNSDCF. This needs a lot of preparatory work to organise data/information, timely dissemination and tracking of key actions. It is critical to organize and manage the available data and information and keep it updated in a coherent and systematic way so that it is avaialable and quickly accessable to the team for use. Equally, it is important to remain up to date with the latest on food security situation, for which VAM has the recognized capacity on data collection, analysis and presentation. The Programme Associate (Data/Information management) is an important position responsible to keep track of related data sets and information/documents, oraganize it in the right folder directory and make it presentable as and when needed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Maintain a calendar of all meetings of the afore-mentioned WGs/coordination platforms; Prepare necessary information / material for various meetings. 2. Aggregate and collate data / information and all relevant documents and develop a centralized data repository to upload the information / documents which should be updated regularly. 3. Attend coordination meetings of various WGs, UNSDCF, coordination platforms as and when needed. 4. Coordinate with Programme and functional units on a regular basis to get inputs for various documents and reports. 5. Prepare reports of various activities implemented / supported by the SDGs-Policy unit. 6. Collate and process information and perform data quality and consistency control and produce summary statistics in the form of flyers, handouts, one/two-pagers etc. 7. Support for preparation of presentation material, talking points for management and other related documents for the WG meetings. 8. Participate in and support to Needs Assessment processes specifically inputs to assessments' methodology, data collection tools, training of enumerators, processing/collation and data exploration. 9. Support on data preparation from primary and secondary sources and formatting of geographic data for use in geographic information systems (GIS) and map production. 10. Any other tasks as required

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

• Common data repository / platform with updated information related to relevant WGs / UNSDCF / Coordination Platform where the SDGs-Policy Unit is leading. • Monthly, quarterly and annual calendars of events coupled with a tracking mechanism. • Reports of various events / activities implemented / supported by the unit. • Information products and summary statistics flyers, handouts, one/two-pagers etc. well prepared • Assisted preparation of talking points and presentation material for WG meetings. • Supported IPC analysis and data preparation for GIS mapping. • Inputs for designing and implementation of food security assessments provided and enumerators’ training co-facilitated.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: University degree in a relevant discipline with experience and training / courses in one or more of the following disciplines: statistics, economics, agricultural economics, or similar relevant discipline) Experience: Overall, at least six years of progressively responsible experience in the field of information management, statistical analysis, food security assessments and data preparation and presentation. Knowledge & Skills: Strong knowledge of food security analysis and the data collection, treatment and manipulation techniques typically associated with it. Strong command of statistics for the analysis of food security indicators. Demonstrated ability in coordination and in the preparation of reports, spread-sheets, presentations and information briefs; Good understanding of economic and social issues in the context of Pakistan. Advanced computer skills, including at least intermediate skills in windows based word processing, publisher, spreadsheet and database. Languages: Fluency in English, working knowledge of the local languages.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position is based in Country office Islamabad,Pakistan.The Programme Associate shall perform the following specific tasks that require dual reporting lines i.e. a) reporting to the Deputy Head of SDGs-Policy unit to support the management of data/information related to various WGs and coordination platforms as mentioned above, and b) reporting to CO VAM team lead for supporting on food security assessments and analysis.
