ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Under the supervision of the Head of Enabling Unit, in coordination with the Activity Managers, the Programme Associate supports oversight of the administrative components of the programme cycle management of the Iraq country.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to support WFP to implement programmes in an effective and efficient manner, so that we can better serve those in need.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Support in utilizing WFP software for project implementation, such as MODA, COMET, SCOPE and any other tool used in the operations.
  2. Support programmatic and financial commitments and take the lead managing FLA and exchanges with CP on operational agreements. Ensure response by the programme team in line with internal requirements.
  3. Support the activity managers with administrative procedures required for programme implementation and follow up with operations and support services.
  4. Support proper upkeep and tracking of planning and reporting tools and plans that support project implementation in a timely manner.
  5. Support the monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the projects through partners and direct implementation as per the guidelines and agreed timelines.
  6. Support the Head of Programme and activity managers in the monitoring of the status of programme activities by leading the collection of data for reports from a range of sources and consolidating this accurately in a timely manner. Such reports could be required for both internal and external purposes.
  7. Support the development of standardized documents to that promote efficient workflows.
  8. Assist with the analysis of programme data, compiling these into information management products. This includes supporting the development of visual information management tools that can be shared internally and externally.
  9. Support the Head of Programme and activity managers in inputting to corporate processes such as the mid-term reviews and thematic reviews which are intended for internal learning, strategic and operational decision-making.
  10. Support the Head of Programmes and activity managers to address recommendations from monitoring, reviews, and evaluations to ensure that follow-up actions are taken as required.
  11. Work alongside the External Relations team to coordinate inputs into external communications materials including country briefs, one-pagers, and online content.
  12. Other duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Desirable, bachelor’s degree in social and development studies, economics, engineering, agricultural development, and relevant specialties. A minimum, Diploma in similar areas.

Experience:

  • As minimum of Six (6) years of work experience in social and development studies, economics, engineering, agricultural development, and relevant specialties.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic both speaking and writing is required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

  • Knowledge and interest in information management tools and the generation of visual products
  • Knowledge of programme cycle administration and programme cycle management.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in food and cash assistance programmes
  • Knowledge and practical experience and resilience and livelihood-related projects.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and large team.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Position Title: Programme Associate Grade: G6 Contract: Fixed Term Multiple Duty Stations: Baghdad, Iraq Duration of contract: 12 months, with possibility of extension subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance Salary: Starting from USD 38,521.00 gross annually Medical Plan: International valid medical plan for the staff member, spouse, and dependent children Annual leave: 30 working days per annum
