You have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Gender Studies, or related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ progressively responsible administrative or programme experience is required at the national or international level. Preference will be given to those who have worked on issues related to gender equality/women’s rights.
- Knowledge of planning, designing, and implementing RBM products and strategies.
- Experience in drafting reports, including using RBM, M&E tools and techniques, and approaches for the presentation of information through use of graphic, pictorial, video or other appropriate communication means.
- Proven analytical and report writing skills and knowledge of research methodologies.
- Strong understanding of gender and development issues in Pakistan.
- Proficiency in the use of software used for preparing reports including Microsoft Office (Word, Power-Point and Excel) is required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and function as part of a team.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Urdu.
Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
UN Women is embarking on implementing a national project “Women’s Economic Empowerment Project” aiming to create an enabling environment for women and girls to participate in the economy, including as entrepreneurs, and access social protection services and financial services for improved and sustainable livelihoods.
Under the overall guidance of Portfolio Manager-WEE&SL and direct supervision of Programme Officer, the Program Associate will provide support and management in execution of services in the field (project target districts in Punjab and Sindh). WEE and SL Unit supports the design, planning and management of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Project by managing data and facilitating programme implementation. The Programme Associate will promote a partners-oriented approach consistent with UN Women rules and regulations
The Programme Associate will work in close collaboration with the operations, other Programme/project teams in the Country Office (CO), for resolving programme-related issues, if any, and information delivery under the guidance of Portfolio Manager WEE & SL.
Under the direct supervision of the Portfolio Manager WEE&SL, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Providing effective support to management of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Project and WEE&SL Programme in the province: • Support in the development of thoroughly researched information for the preparation of project documents’ drafts, work plans, budgets, and proposals on implementation arrangements. • Support Portfolio Manager WEE&SL in coordination/meetings with UN, government and implementing partners at the provincial level. • Support follow up on performance indicators/ success criteria, targets and milestones, preparation of reports. • Analysis of the situation in field, identification of operational and implementation challenges, development of solutions.
Providing administrative support to the Women’s Economic Empowerment Project, and WEE&SL Program Unit • Provide assistance and support in implementation of Women’s Economic Empowerment Project as per work plan. • Support the supervisor in achieving the targets against work plan. • Support in maintaining proper control of the supporting documents for payments, review of projects, partner’s narrative, and financial reports.
Facilitate the reporting of results to Portfolio Manager and Programme Team • Support the process of meeting internal and external reporting requirements and deadlines, including annual reporting process. • Follow up with partners for progress reports and share feedback with CO to improve quality and timeliness of reporting.
Contribute to knowledge and capacity building • Identify and disseminate good practices, lessons, and knowledge, as identified through programme implementation activities. • Support in integrating realities from the field in the concept notes, reports developed in CO, collate information related to the key areas of the Programme.
Ensure administration and implementation of programme strategies, adapt processes and procedures: • Presentation and sharing of information/ reports for identification of areas for support and interventions. • Support coordination and UN Women partnerships.

As this is a national UNV assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
UNV Field Unit will help you open a Pak rupee bank account with Standard Chartered Bank or any other local bank at your duty station.
Assignment remarks: This is a national UNV assignment and a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 84,840 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
