Overview

Support KURA NAWE program by managing coordination, innovation, and data tasks.

You have:

• Demonstrated experience in organizing events, taking minutes for multi-stakeholder meetings, and tracking action points.
• Experience working with youth-led organizations or community service projects, ideally involving social media campaigns or digital platforms.
• Proficiency in data cleaning and basic statistical analysis, experience with KoboToolbox, Google Forms, or Excel.
• Foundational understanding of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
• Strong skills in digital tools for assisting in the rollout of SRHR information platforms and knowledge products.
• Excellent command of English for drafting clear, concise meeting minutes and donor reports.
• Ability to work respectfully within the Rwandan socio-cultural context demonstrating high emotional intelligence.

The UNFPA Rwanda Country Office is in the inception and scale-up phase of the KURA NAWE program (2025–2029), which empowers young people by integrating Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) care centers. This integration promotes inclusion, facilitates school reintegration, and reduces teenage pregnancies, ultimately unlocking young people’s potential and improving their quality of life. To ensure smooth implementation, the UNV will support multi-sectoral coordination by serving as secretariat to the technical and steering committees and assisting in monitoring Annual Work Plans from implementing partners. This contribution strengthens governance structures and ensures that KURA NAWE delivers on its commitments to foster a more empowered and productive generation.

Under the direct supervision of Programme Specialist - Reproductive Health and Rights, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

A. Support to Programme Management & Coordination • Serve as the secretariat support for the Kura Nawe technical and Steering Committee; draft agendas, take meeting minutes, and track action points to ensure the multi-sectoral coordination mechanism functions smoothly. • Assist in monitoring the implementation of Annual Work Plans from different Implementing Partners, ensuring that Kura Nawe Implementation plan is smoothly executed within budget.

B. Innovation, Technology & Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Knowledge Management support • Support the "innovation and technology" component of Kura Nawe by assisting in the design and rollout of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights information platforms for Technical and Vocational Education and Training students. • Assist in maintaining the database for scholarship beneficiaries and the tracking system for school reintegration cases to ensure no beneficiary is left behind. -Document lessons learned and success stories to support the program’s scale-up strategy. • Assist in collecting and cleaning data regarding Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights service uptake in Technical and Vocational Education and Training care centers, translating that information into a knowledge-sharing product • Participating in field visits to Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions to verify the quality of Comprehensive Sexuality Education integration and Sexual and Reproductive

Health and Rights service delivery; draft field reports highlighting bottlenecks and recommendations. • Contribute to the drafting of quarterly and annual donor reports by consolidating data and narrative inputs from partners.

C. Administrative and Logistical support • Coordinate the logistics for training sessions, workshops, and stakeholder review meetings (venue booking, participant travel, and materials preparation).

During the first month of the assignment, the UN Volunteer will work with his/her direct supervisor to finalize an agreed-upon work plan. This plan will include regular meetings with the supervisor to review progress and receive feedback on performance against agreed objectives. The final work plan will be discussed and mutually endorsed by both the UN Volunteer and the supervisor.

Demonstrated interest or experience (up to 12 months) in • Project Coordination: Demonstrated experience (including internships or university leadership) in organizing events, taking minutes for multi-stakeholder meetings, and tracking action points. • Youth Engagement: Experience working with youth-led organizations or community service projects. Given the "Youth-Led Innovation" goal, a candidate who has de-signed or managed social media campaigns or digital platforms for youth would be ideal. • Data Literacy: Proficiency in "data cleaning" and basic statistical analysis. Experience using tools like KoboToolbox, Google Forms, or Excel for tracking beneficiaries (such as scholarship or reintegration cases). • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights knowledge: A foundational under-standing of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).

Skills: • Digital Innovation: The ideal candidate should have strong skills in digital tools. This includes the ability to assist in the rollout of SRHR information platforms and create "knowledge products" (e.g., infographics, success story layouts). • Communication: Excellent command of English (written and oral). The ability to draft clear, concise meeting minutes and donor reports. • Cultural Sensitivity: As an international UNV in Rwanda, the candidate must demonstrate high emotional intelligence and the ability to work respectfully within the Rwandan socio-cultural context.

The city is exceptionally safe, with emergency services accessible via 999 for police, 111 for firefighters, and 112 for general emergencies. The city offers a stable environment with a growing international community and good working conditions for UN personnel.
