WFP also aims to provide nutrition support to more than 4 million children and women, school feeding to more than 3 million schoolchildren, and livelihoods support to 2 million people.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Regional Bureaux (RBs), Country Offices (COs), Area/Field Offices (AOs/FOs). The job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or the designate. At this level, job holders are responsible for the completion of a range of specialized and/or standardized processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyses and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

Background information

Identity management is a core component of the design and implementation of effective and efficient Programme activities, this includes the processes of beneficiary identification, registration, and beneficiary data update, up to ensuring the readiness of quality data for enrolment and prioritization when needed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

The training and Sensitization assistant will technically and administratively report to the Training and Sensitization Associate in the Registration & Registry unit at the area office level. At this level, the incumbent is expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to support on delivering different trainings and provide input to sensitization campaign.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Implement and deliver high-quality Standard Operating Procedures and training manuals for the registration and data updates exercises in the southern governorates.
  • Deliver the training sessions in beneficiaries registration aligned with registration strategies and propose new fashioned methodologies, as well as apply data quality assurance procedures during registration exercises.
  • Translating complex and technical information into an intuitive and clear format that will be used in the field by different registration and targeting teams.
  • Participate and engage with concerned units (communication unit) and specialized contracted vendor to ensure the multimedia contents is related to the importance of registration and data collection.
  • Make sure the created Diagrams, Drawings and Charts are best understood and deployed in the workshops to explain the objective of registration & targeting business process
  • Plan for regular field visits to deliver advanced & update training sessions to internal and external stakeholders to deliver latest project information.
  • Assist in evaluation of the trainees/enumerator’s work, based on data quality reports received from the database team.
  • Provide on ground technical advice and support to registration teams during the registration and data collection.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Results Expected:

  • WFP staff at Country and Area Offices including external stakeholders involved in registration and targeting are adequately trained and given guidance on relevant business procedures.

  • Deliver a high-quality training & sensitization session to the field Offices staff and cooperating partners teams.

  • A full set of documentation (SOP, User Manual, frequent asked questions (FAQ), sensitization packages etc…) that defines the approach, methodologies and tools being used for registration and database updates

Critical Success Factors:

  • Skilled at developing and delivering training programs.
  • Understanding of the goals of the functional unit and how the corporate training program enables the area Office to achieve its strategic objectives. Understanding of the policies and procedures that govern the delivery of the corporate training program and other functional units’ services
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in use of information technology tools for the reporting, graphics, and visualizations.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in Information Technology, Social Science, or another relevant field is desirable.

Language: Proficiency (read/ write/ speak) in English & Arabic

Experience: At least five years of postgraduate progressively relevant professional experience.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

  • Extensive experience on building capacities and developing communication materials.
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism and an ability to work independently and in high pressure situations under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills including experience of facilitation of trainings/workshops and presentation.
  • Proven and demonstrated broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques.

Emergency Programming Displays capacity to provide inputs into the development, implementation and realignment of high quality emergency programmes. Strategic Policy Engagement w/Govt Understands and applies basic principles of engagement with government counterparts at the national or local level.
