JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the overall guidance of the Head of Programme and direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer - M & E, the Programme Assistant (Operations & Monitoring) will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Perform specialized and/or standardised planning, processes within programme unit activities in and supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines. This include verification of planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items resolving routine issues and escalating where appropriate, to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of he operation is in line with WFP standard.
  2. Provide project/activity management and/or general office support following established targets with aim to support improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient implementation of the assistance programmes.
  3. Within the assigned activity/area of responsibility, ensure accurate and timely programme data capturing using WFP tools (COMET & SCOPE) and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) to support operational decision-making.
  4. Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines.
  5. Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation.
  6. Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation, and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  7. Provide standard operational trainings for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods to support them to independently seld monitor and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
  8. Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions. Through regular meetings with community leaders and cooperating

  10. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  11. Perform any other related duties.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable. Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Siswati.
