ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or the designate. At this level, job holders are responsible for the completion of a range of specialized and/or standardized processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyses and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Perform specialized and/or standardised processes and activities on Service Provision through WFP’s Cash-Based Transfers (CBT Platform, supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist programme unit in the Gaza Field Office (FO) compiling relevant data on databases, and supporting analysis and preparation of reports, dashboards, infographics (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) in order to support operational decision-making.
  • Support on the configuration and maintenance of WFP’s virtual platform for Cash-Based Transfers.
  • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Assist Gaza FO in the preparation of reports and proposals.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Support programme unit in the Gaza FO on Beneficiary Management (coordinating with cooperating partners and other relevant stakeholders, for beneficiary updates, etc), following WFP’s policies and procedures on data protection.
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities, particularly in the areas of CBT Service Provision.
  • Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary, particularly in the areas of Service Provision, beneficiary management, and database management and maintenance.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  • Support on any other Business as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. a BA certificate in the related functional area is desirable. Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English

Strategic Policy Engagement w/Govt Understands and applies basic principles of engagement with government counterparts at the national or local level.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Fixed-term Appointment: an appointment for a continuous period of one year and shall have a specified expiration date and subject to a probationary period of one year, which may be extended to 18 months.

Annual Net Pay Salary: Fixed Term/ GS5 ILS 132097

Staff Assessment A staff assessment, comparable to national income tax, shall be applied to the gross salaries and such other payments as are computed on the basis of salary, The assessment shall be calculated at rates set forth in the FAO Administrative Manual.

Duty Station: Gaza and Reports To: Head of Gaza field office

Dependency allowances: applicable to children up to 18 years of age, or up to 21 years in full-time school attendance

United Nation Joint pension fund a deduction of 7.9% from the pensionable remuneration will be made from the net salary, the WFP will contribute of 15.8%

Medical Insurance: mandatory for staff member and can be extended to dependents in a cost sharing

Annual leave: 2.5 days a month and Sick leave: 2 days per month

Official Holiday: 10 days as officially established for each duty station
