STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Degree qualification in any relevant social sciences fields

Experience:

At least 1 year of work experience, part of which should be in any work that entailed writing reports or minutes of meetings.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to organize and consolidate information in ways that are structured; quick to learn including through self-directed learning

Languages:

Fluency (level C) in English language

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position will be under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the WFP Evaluation Manager, and day-to-day consultation with the WFP activity manager for Resilience and the project coordinator for adaptation fund.

JOB PURPOSE

This evaluation will be co-managed by the WFP Progamme Policy Officer (VAM/M&E) and the Economic Planner at the Ministry of Forestry. The co-managers will work under the overall guidance of the co-chairs of the evaluation committee (The WFP Deputy Country director and the director of Forestry at the Ministry). The purpose of the programme assistant position is to support the co-managers and the evaluation committee to ensure a smooth and efficient evaluation process.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Consolidate data/documents/reports,comments and feedback from stakeholders on draft inception report using the WFP inception report comments matrix and submit to the evaluation team leader, create and maintain a library for the evaluation.
  • Assist the evaluation managers in the convening of evaluation committee and stakeholder/evaluation reference group meetings by making arrangements for meeting rooms, sending invitations etc.
  • Prepare notes for the record of the meetings and submit these to the evaluation managers;
  • Maintain up to date list of key stakeholders, making sure when there are changes the names of specific people are updated; share this information to the evaluation team to inform the communication and learning plan.
  • Support the recruitment and training of research assistants as well as the management of all information related to the evaluation by maintaining a clear structure of the valuation documentation on SharePoint.
  • Keep the evaluation schedule up to date up making changes when timelines shift, and share the updated schedule with the Regional Evaluation unit.
  • Ensure that data sets collected by the evaluation are received and stored on the shared space for future analysis.
  • Perform any other tasks as shall be allocated by the WFP evaluation manager.
