IITE is the only UNESCO Category 1 Institute that holds a global mandate for ICT in education. Under the overall supervision of the Director of UNESCO IITE and direct supervision of the Chief of the Digital Pedagogy and Learning Materials Unit (DPLM), the incumbent shall serve as a Programme Assistant and perform the following tasks in close coordination with the DPLM team: - Provide support to the implementation of extra-budgetary projects, focused, in particular, on the digital transformation of higher education in Central Asia and the development of the Russian-language resources on media and information literacy for teachers, in the form of overall coordination of execution of planned activities, as well as preparation and monitoring of contractual arrangements in full accordance with the UNESCO Guidelines and Regulations. - Liaise with partner organizations, institutions and relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies, National Commissions for UNESCO, and MoE of target countries, to enable the realization of the project activities. - Contribute to the organization of international and national educational events and meetings primarily related to digital competencies of teachers, digital pedagogy, media and information literacy of teachers, digital transformation of education and other related fields. - Facilitate the coordination of training, courses and workshops organised within the DPLM Unit activities. - Assist in collection of data, review and qualitative analysis of strategic documents and production of publications on advanced educational practices, ICT competencies frameworks, digital technologies use in higher education and other related topics. Provide informational support to local and international initiatives on the successful use of ICT in education and develop relevant news items, announcements, website updates and other communication materials. - Contribute to the preparation of the project-related documents and reports on various ongoing project activities, including project reports for donors. - Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor or the Director of UNESCO IITE. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education:*** - University degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Education, teacher education, social science, and related fields. ***Work Experience:*** - At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of education and/or implementation of educational projects. - Experience in working with government authorities, educational institutions and international organizations. - Experience in the provision of administrative, organizational and logistical support to projects implementation. ***Languages:*** - Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Russian and English. ***Skills/Competencies:*** - Excellent coordination skills. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and use of advanced ICT tools. - Capacity to work under pressure by effectively dealing with time and resource constraints. - Ability to establish amicable working relations with donors and partners. - Strong respect for diversity. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- ***Work Experience:*** - Familiarity with the UNESCO priorities, major initiatives on equity, inclusion, and ICT use in education. - Experience in coordination of projects on the advancement of SDGs and online learning tools in educational institutions, and the development of ICT competencies of students and teachers. - Experience of work with the United Nations Organization would be an asset. **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
