IITE is the only UNESCO Category 1 Institute that holds a global mandate for ICT in education. Under the overall supervision of the Director of UNESCO IITE and direct supervision of the Chief of Teacher Professional Development and Networking Unit (TPDN), the incumbent shall serve as a Programme Assistant and perform the following tasks in close coordination with the TPDN team: - ​​​​​​​Provide extensive support towards realization and advancement of extra-budgetary projects, pertaining to utilization of ICT and AI in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), education of persons with disabilities, teacher professional development and capacity building, meaningful applications of EdTech and innovative pedagogical practices. Ensure coordination of stipulated activities, preparation and monitoring of contractual arrangements in full accordance with the UNESCO Guidelines and Regulations. - Liaise with partner organizations, institutions, and relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies, National Commissions for UNESCO, and MoEs in target regions towards successful advancement of the Unit’s project activities. - Engage in the organization of educational events and meetings (at diverse levels) related to developing and enriching ICT competencies of educators, learners, and school communities; bolstering learning systems and solutions to ensure and strengthen inclusion and lifelong learning opportunities in and through education. - Provide support in design and development of teacher training programmes/ distance (blended) learning courses, coordinate training activities and workshops towards impactful teachers’ capacity building. - Assist in collection, review, and conduction of qualitative analyses of strategic documents and publications on advanced educational approaches, best international practices, digital solutions, and supportive technology to foster and ensure equity and quality of education for all. - Involve in, and contribute to, the preparation of field-specific and cross-sectional reports on project-related endeavors, outreach activities, their ensured and prospective benefits. - Assist in the development of concept notes and activity frameworks, with special reference to new technology-based teaching and learning approaches, accessible and assistive solutions for vulnerable and/or less affluent learners, and smart learning. - Provide informational support to local and international initiatives on the beneficial application of ICT and AI in education; compile relevant news items, announcements, website updates, and other communication inputs. - Perform other project-dedicated assignments deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor or the Director of UNESCO IITE. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education:*** - University degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Education, teacher education, social science, and related fields. ***Work Experience:*** - At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in the field of education, implementation of educational projects, teacher professional development and instructional design. - Experience in working with government authorities, educational institutions and international organizations. - Experience in the provision of administrative, organizational and logistical support to projects implementation. - Experience in drafting high-quality, clear, concise, evidence-based documents and reports. ***Languages:*** - Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Russian. ***Skills/Competencies:*** - Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including strong drafting skills. - Practical expertise in contract formulation, conclusion, management and support or familiarity with the administrative procedures of large organizations. - High proficiency in MS Office Suite and use of advanced ICT tools. - Ability to work as part of an international team in a multicultural environment. - Capacity to remain efficient under time and resource constraints and ability to multi-task, prioritize to adjust work schedules and deliver timely results. - Enthusiasm and ability to encourage and maintain amicable working relations with colleagues, stakeholders, partners, and donors. - Strong respect for human diversity. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- ***Work Experience:*** - Familiarity with the UNESCO Priorities, major initiatives on Equity, Inclusion, and ICT use in Education. - Experience in coordination of projects on EdTech application and digital transformation, inclusion, and equity in and through education, the development of ICT competencies of teachers and students is an advantage. **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
