What will you do in this position?

You will support the deployment, implementation, and use of WFP corporate digital solutions: software, applications, programs, utilities.

The war in Ukraine has had drastic consequences, both for people inside the country and for those around the world dependent on its huge grain supplies. It has caused one of the fastest forced population movements since the Second World War. Close to 8 million Ukrainians are living as refugees across Europe, and another 5.3 million are internally displaced. Many are destitute, having lost their homes and livelihoods. As food production and supply lines are disrupted by fighting, many families in the east and south do not have reliable access to nutritious food.

WFP uses a flexible mix of food and cash assistance to support vulnerable Ukrainians wherever they are. This includes working with local partners to distribute food rations in areas near the frontline and providing cash transfers wherever people have access to banks and markets to buy food. Since March 2022, WFP has distributed food and cash assistance equivalent to 1.9 billion meals to families displaced and affected by the war, partnering directly with local responders.

How can you make a difference?

In this position, you will have to:

  • Provide end-to-end operational support for smooth delivery of digital programming, including but not limited to, cash/in-kind beneficiary registry, SMS communications, and digital cash transfers – while adhering to data assurance and security standards.
  • Work with the data team to prepare clean beneficiary lists, support efforts in data transformation, deduplication, detecting anomalies, using data analytics and techniques, and following up for further verifications and corrective actions.
  • Provide 1st level support and problem analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues for end users, implement corrective solutions or escalation to appropriate persons as required.
  • Regularly monitors and follows up on all pending tickets and issues with service desk or relevant technical teams for resolution and closure.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and delivery of training on cash transfer and in-kind digital programming. Provide training and coaching to WFP focal points and partners.
  • Coordinate with IT operations team on the maintenance of systems and hardware to ensure technology is running effectively for field operations.

To join us in saving lives, changing lives, you will have:

Education: Completion of secondary education. University degree is a plus.

Experience in supporting piloting, rolling out, and scaling computer systems or digital solutions or similar projects. Experience working with large data sets and summarizing data for business. Experience working in a diverse team, and multi-cultural settings is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong Excel skills and/or similar data analytical tools;
  • Broad knowledge of technology and innovations for humanitarian and social impact;
  • Problem-solving and client orientation.
  • Thrive under pressure and competing deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with different teams and clients and maintain positive working relations.
  • Motivation to work in humanitarian assistance and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Language: Fluency (level C) in both in English and Ukrainian languages.
