JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate or degree in the related functional area (Administration, Accounting and or/Audit, Finance) is desirable Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Has facilitated communication with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.). • Has contributed to implementation of programmes. • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.

OTHER POST REQUIREMENTS (details to be determined by Post Managers):

• Good computer skills and experience of using spreadsheets and database software • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Good numeracy and analytical skills • Experience working in multi-cultural environment and/or developing country • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

1. Ensure timely reporting submission from Cooperating Partners (CPs) 2. Process payment claims/invoices of Cooperating partners (CPs), ensuring the correct exchange rate is used, including follow-up of upon commodity losses reported through the distribution report. 3. Track payments made to Cooperating partners (CPs) by maintaining the payment tracker updated. 4. Prepare monthly status report, and flag any issues that require action. 5. Liaise closely with relevant programme units and CO Finance on issues related to CP payments; 6. Provide guidance, training, and oversight to CPs related to the payment process. 7. Prepare Note for the Record (NFRs) and related documents as required; 8. Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures; 9. Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports in order to support operational decision-making. 10. Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities. 11. Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions. 12. Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary. 13. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis; 14. Perform any other duties as assigned.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Type of contract: Service Contract, Level 5

Duty Station: Maputo

Duration: 12 months (renewable)
