This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of UNFPA Program Coordinator or her designated mandated representative(s), the National UN Volunteer will:

 Provide input into arranging the programme activities, supports programme officers in preparation

of budgets, arranging venues, materials and helping in preparation of the presentations;

 Contribute to the preparation of the programme financial reports and follow up actions by collecting

information, preparing tables, drafting selected sections of the report etc;

 Assists in developing tools and mechanisms for effective and efficient implementation of programme

and project budgets;

 Compile relevant background materials and prepares briefs and summaries if requested;

 Support in communication and awareness raising activities targeting gender inequality issues;

 Ensure proper reporting and communications on the conducted events (participants’ analysis,

feedback on the communication products, mass media analysis, etc.);

 Assist in producing media and presentation materials;

 Arrange working meetings and events, prepare draft minutes, communicate draft notes to the

participants and receives feedback;

 Ensure quality and completeness in filing of programme documents; assist in e-archiving, filing, and

maintenance of up-to-date electronic mailing lists on programme and technical matters;

 Undertake logistical, administrative and financial arrangements required for the successful planning

and delivery of technical workshops, inter-agency meetings, panel discussions, roundtables, missions,

and other events organized by the output managers in close collaboration with the operations team;

 Perform assigned tasks within Global Programming System and TRIP system for UNFPA program

management;

 Conduct monitoring visits to the regional events;

 Monitor the assistance provided by UNFPA to implementing partners paying attention to quality of activities and tracking the progress, prioritize the collection of accurate and complete age and sex-disaggregated data;

 Contribute to drafting donor and stakeholder reporting, concept notes, memorandums, official requests and recommendations to streamline gender programme activities;

 Translate and draft letters and other programme documents as well as provide oral translation as may be assigned by the Country Office management;

 Carry out other duties as may be requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Required experience:

24 Months

Experience remark:

  • Relevant professional experience in project monitoring, managing information, coordination or related area;
  • Proficiency in data management and visualization software applications, advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, functions, etc.), teleconferencing is essential;
  • Understanding of the UN SDGs is recommended.

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • Russian(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • Ukrainian(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
