What will you do in this position?

The Incumbent will be part of a team of dedicated and committed field staff responsible to support WFP operations under the Zwedru Field Office through programme planning, monitoring, reporting and coordination to support the effective delivery of WFP assistance packages outlined in the Country Strategic Plan (CSP). Selected candidates will carry out the responsibilities as OIC of Zwedru Field office and report directly to Deputy Country Director with below mentioned key responsibilities.

How can you make a difference?

In this position, you will have to:

  1. Provide support to implementation of various activities under the Zwedru Field Office in alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines;
  2. Monitor the implementation of various assistance activities in the southeastern counties in close collaboration with partners and the community.
  3. Enter all monitoring data collected (General Distribution /School Feeding/Asset Creation and Livelihood, Nutrition activity questionnaires) in the MODA platform using tablets.
  4. Document good operational practices and any concerns regarding gender and environmental implications observed on the ground.
  5. Verify the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, resolving routine issues and escalating where appropriate, to ensure that the quantity distributed and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
  6. Support capacity building including trainings/ orientations for cooperating partners, Farmers Cooperatives, Retailers and other stakeholders on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to independently self-monitor and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
  7. Contribute to missions, market assessments, donor’s missions, rapid need assessments, Food security assessment and nutrition surveys.
  8. Follow up closely with the feedback received through hotline under CFM platform
  9. Report monthly on concerns and comments from beneficiaries and cooperating partners to support identifying programmatic issues.
  10. Suggest improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient implementation of the assistance programmes.
  11. Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation
  12. Ensure accurate, timely provision of data on beneficiaries and transfer requirements to support planning and delivery of assistance including cash-based transfer and food release notes are processed through corporate platforms or tool/s.
  13. Coordinate and communicate with local partners including government to ensure efficient delivery of food assistance.
  14. Perform other duties as required/assigned.

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area will be an advantage.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

 Minimum of three years of experience in monitoring and evaluating activities of Food assistance programme, database management, data collection and conducting surveys at field level, participatory assessment, data processing or analysis and computer experience. related field reports.

 Experience analysing programme output and outcome data.

 General knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards

Language: Fluency (level C) in English language.
