**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Education Sector (ED) Duty Station: New Delhi Job Family: Education Type of contract : Non Staff Level : Level 5 Duration of contract : 3 Months Recruitment open to : Internal and external candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 18 August 2022 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- **The #KeepGirlsInSchool project** **UNESCO New Delhi and Whisper®️, India’s leading feminine care brand, have come together to raise awareness and educate on Menstrual Hygiene Management under the programme #KeepGirlsInSchool.** Taking a lifelong approach to Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management, the aim of this partnership is to empower girls and boys with access to period and puberty education. The project is inclusive of all genders and diverse groups including girls with disabilities. Through this project, UNESCO intends to ensure that all learners are well-informed on the changes that occur with the onset of puberty, can effectively manage these changes, and are aware of their impact on one another. Through this crucial intervention, the long-term aim of the project is to help create a supportive environment for adolescents with interventions at the school, state, and national levels to help girls continue their education. The key outcome of the project is to engender gender transformative change i.e., bring about change that transforms the relations between gender and achieve more equitable outcomes in the lives of persons all genders, particularly girls that enables them to continue living as autonomous individuals fully capable to engage in the public and socio-economic lives of their communities. For the project, UNESCO has developed a total of 5 modules and a Gap Analysis Report that focus on key intervention areas related to Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management. The Modules are: 1. The Curriculum from Primary Tertiary Education Module 2. The Teacher Training Module 3. The Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management Module and Girls with Disabilities Module 4. The Gender and Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management Module 5. The Nutrition, Health, and Hygiene Module UNESCO is currently developing: 1. A Thesaurus of Terminologies 2. A Survey Report on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management **Transforming Education Summit September 2022**The United Nations Secretary-General is convening the Transforming Education Summit (TES) during the 77th UN General Assembly. The Summit seeks to mobilize political ambition, action, solutions and solidarity to transform education: to take stock of efforts to recover pandemic-related learning losses; to reimagine education systems for the world of today and tomorrow; and to revitalize national and global efforts to achieve SDG 4. **Duties and Responsibilities:** Under the overall authority of the Director of the UNESCO New Delhi Office, guidance of the Chief of Education Sector, and direct supervision of National Programme Officer, Education sector, the incumbent will work for a three- month duration (23 August 2022 – 23 November 2022) to coordinate between the various consultants and institutions and UNESCO Colleagues on issues related to the following project activities: **For the Transforming Education Summit September 2022** - Provide support the UNESCO New Delhi Office to prepare for the Transforming Education Summit in September 2022; - Prepare speeches and other related communications documents as required on the Summit Long Description ---------------- *For the #KeepGirlsInSchool project* - Attend all required meetings between UNESCO, P&G, and various consultants - Prepare Meeting agendas, PowerPoint presentations, Key Outcomes and other required documents of meetings between UNESCO, P&G, and external experts; - Coordinate with IT staff to create, share and record the link of all meetings between UNESCO, P&G, and external experts; - Assist in the editing, designing, and printing of all materials developed for the project; - Support communication and provide feedback to external experts on documents under development; **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- **Education:** Master’s degree from a recognized University will be considered. **Work Experience:** At least 2 years of working experience. **Languages:** Excellent English, both oral and written. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- **Work Experience:** Previous experience in international development bodies would be considered as an asset. **Languages:** Knowledge of another UN official language would be considered as an asset. **BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS** ----------------------------- **Entitlements:** Benefits include 2.5 days of annual leave per completed month of service and 15% Social security.
