This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

Under the direct supervision of the Governance Programme Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

• Contribute to the implementation of the Country Programme by providing thematic, administra-tive and financial support to the monitoring of ongoing projects; • Provide direct support to the programme, unit and project teams in terms of quality assurance, capacity building, project analysis and development, monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management; • Assist in developing project concepts, mobilizing new partnerships and resources; • Provide direct support to the team for the preparation of meeting minutes, reports, presenta-tions, summaries and recommendations; • Assist in organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, events, missions and outreach support activities; • Assist in the migration of data from Atlas to Quantum.

Furthermore, the NUNV IS required to: • Strengthen their knowledge on the SDGs and the United Nations Development System • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNDP and UNV publica-tions/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local indi-viduals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possi-ble.

Results/Expected Outputs: • Strong, concise and timely thematic and projects monitoring support is given to the gov-ernance programme; • Responsive quality assurance is strengthened, results are reported, monitoring and evalua-tion requirements are met and knowledge management is improved; • Direct support is assured in terms of developing new projects; • High quality documents are elaborated; • UNDP-related meetings and events are efficiently facilitated; • The contribution of the country office to UNDAF working groups is assured. • The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counter-parts, including Implementing Partners (IPs); • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and doc-umented in all activities throughout the assignment; • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development dur-ing the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities par-ticipated in and capacities developed.
