- Previous humanitarian or development working experience in protection, child protection, gender-based violence or legal matters
- Previous experience coordinating a team in a cross-cultural setting.
- Previous experience in emergency preparedness and response.
- Previous experience in capacity building.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required.
- Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well.
Job Description
The Mexico Country Program launched in August of 2021 an emergency response to support Afghan arrivals to Mexico City. Based in Mexico City, the Program Manager is responsible for providing the necessary support, oversight and technical guidance to ensure successful implementation of programmatic activities related to this response. This will include supporting and managing daily planning processes and implementation, internal capacity building activities, activity design, as well as supporting the monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide overall technical and program guidance for the Afghan response. - Work with program teams to monitor and update project management tools including spending plans, work plans, procurement plans, indicator plans etc. for the successful and timely implementation of activities - Provide support with regards to program’s budget to ensure activities and spending are aligned. - Maintain and implement a strong monitoring and evaluation plan, including systematic data collection, adherence to reporting mechanisms, and analysis to inform programming, reporting, fundraising and advocacy - Contribute to IRC programmatic reports as required. - Propose recommendations which lead to improve the response capacity. - Support the design and implementation of the new response model for the Afghan response. - Support response team to strengthen their technical capacity. - Provide hands-on support to the team on the ground on a daily basis - Attend relevant coordination sessions such as meetings and working groups. - Forge connections with counterparts including INGO, Local NGO, governmental, UN, donor, and other non-governmental stakeholders. - Collaborate closely with other program departments to ensure that linkages between project and programs are made and gain from cross-sector best practices. - Support the Afghan response team and contribute to a strong team spirit. - Coordinate and communicate effectively with Deputy Director (Cross border), Deputy Director (Program) and Protection Coordinator to ensure timely completion of activities and program requirements.
