FHI 360 has an exciting internship opportunity for a student interested in growing their skills within the international development sector. Under close supervision, an intern will perform entry level professional duties which will provide the opportunity for professional training in various functional areas throughout the organization. Internship assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to a global nonprofit development organization.

Global Procurement Servies provides Procurement support and guidance around the globe for FHI 360 and has an internship available for Supply Chain who have completed at least two years within a Business Administration or Supply Chain Management program. This internship offers the opportunity to get an understanding of the operations of and the issues facing a global nonprofit development organization.

This is a paid internship with a flexible schedule based on project needs.

Anticipated Duration: Summer 2024 (May-August) and Fall 2024 (August- September)

Hours: Part-time, 10-20 or 20-30 hours/week during the school year and 30-40 during summer (if schedule allows)

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour (Undergraduate)

Location: Remote, United States (strong preference given to candidates residing in the Eastern time zone)

Skills Gained and Learning Opportunities:

  • Practical experience within a Global Supply Chain department for a large, global non-profit organization
  • Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with successful Global Supply Chain professionals
  • Experience working with dynamic customer requests, working with data tools, internal enhancement of guidance tools that support customers of Global Procurement

Anticipated Project(s) and Assignment Details:

The intern may contribute to various team or project activities under the direction of their supervisor, including in the following ways:

  • Assist Procurement Associates with request for proposals.
  • Help improve our internal web presence within the company.
  • Support the current staff with the consultant mailbox and related tasks.
  • Research, edit and suggest improvements to a vendor guide and other procurement documents.
  • Create and run a training poll for the global procurement team.
  • Plan and attend team meetings (e.g., prepare materials, take minutes, write reports).
  • Work on project activities assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Currently enrolled in a Business Administration/Supply Chain Management degree program at an accredited university; has completed at least two years of study
  • Demonstrated interest in related subject area through studies, work experience, and/or personal travel
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Good, positive communication (written and oral)
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time

  • Personal Computer
  • Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI etc.)
