The objective of the position is to provide support to UNDP Procurement Team to accelerate the procurement process.  The subject position will contribute in meeting timelines of CO delivery.  Position will be based in Country Office Pakistan

Under the guidance and supervision of the Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Associate provides support in execution of procurement services in Country Office ensuring their effectiveness, transparency and integrity. The Procurement Associate promotes a client-focused, quality and results- oriented approach in the Unit.

The Procurement Associate works in close collaboration with the procurement Team in Country Office for completing below mentioned procurement steps within defined timelines.

Organization of procurement processes

Implementation of sourcing strategy and e-procurement tools

Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing

Review and perform quality assurance of TORs and specification developed by the requesting unit and projects before initiation of procurement process.

Full compliance of procurement activities with UN/UNDP rules and regulations.

CO Procurement business processes mapping and elaboration of the content of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in Procurement, control of the workflows in the Procurement Unit.
Institutional Arrangement

Procurement Assosiate will work in Country Office Procurement Unit, Islamabad and report directly to the Head of Procurement.

• Procurement Associate will report to Procurement Manager and will contribute potential with procurement unit staff to mitigate the work load and meeting procurement goals and timelines.

• Procurement Associate will Identify and develop talent in individuals, providing positive support to enable them to achieve their potential.

3 Years’ or more experience working in carrying out procurement processes, under various regimes, public and private. Experience of working with UN system, public sector organizations and international or non-governmental organizations supporting procurement work. Knowledge of UN procurement policies will be an asset.

As this is a national UNV assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. UNV Field Unit will help you open a Pak rupee bank account with Standard Chartered Bank or any other local bank at your duty station.

Assignment remarks: This is a national UNV assignment and a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 106,180 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
