This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days/month in the office. You can be based in one of our India offices in Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission; WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

About the Program:

WRI’s Global Operations Team (GOT) ensures that the global strategy and network is effective with empowered international offices that share WRI’s mission, values, and approach. It ensures efficiency of operations, and consistency of values and practices throughout the WRI network. This includes ensuring consistently high standards of financial, fiduciary, administrative, and human resource management, sound risk assessment and controls for existing and new offices, and the development of a sustainable financing model for individual offices and for the network as a whole.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the Special Projects Manager for Global Delivery, you will work with all core functions including operations, human resources, information technology, legal and financial planning while playing a pivotal role in optimizing our operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for driving positive change within a non-profit setting. You will lead our efforts in assessing, designing, implementing, and managing streamlined processes across various departments within the organization. You will play a key role in enhancing organizational productivity, ensuring seamless workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You are someone seeking to work in a cross-functional role and is interested in improving effectiveness of organizations and streamlining business processes.

You should be willing to travel at short notice to WRI’s offices around the world to support colleagues in these offices on a variety of operational issues. Position might require out of regular office hours working times to account for time zone differences with WRI’s country offices. You will also be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Global Operations Team whose members are spread across WRI’s country offices. What will you do:

Brilliant WRI Strategy – Process Excellence Initiative (75%): -

  • Lead the Process Excellence initiative – all delivery processes across Finance, Accounting, G&C, HR, Operations and IT will be made end-user focused, consistent across all WRI offices, meeting the accepted quality and compliance benchmarks. Process Assessment and Improvement
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess existing business processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Analyze workflows, procedures and systems to streamline operations and increase efficiency
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize business processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of new processes and systems
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure successful execution of process improvement initiatives
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement corrective actions
  • Change Management: Work with stakeholders to communicate process changes and obtain buy-in from all levels of the organization
  • Develop training materials and provide training sessions to ensure smooth adoption of new processes
  • Proactively address resistance to change and implement strategies to promote a culture of innovation and agility
  • Performance Monitoring and Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
  • Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the impact of process improvements
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all business processes comply with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize organizational exposure
  • Monitor internal controls and implement measures to safeguard organizational assets and resources.
  • Automation and Technology Integration: Identify opportunities for process automation and work closely with IT teams for implementation
  • Evaluate and integrate technology solutions to enhance process efficiency
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in process management
  • Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all organizational processes
  • Develop and deliver training programs for end-users on new and existing processes
  • Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible for all relevant stakeholders

Global Operations – Coordination, Communication, Capacity Building (25%) :-

  • Work with the Special Projects Manager to manage the agenda and priorities of the Global Operations Team to support operations in all WRI’s country offices
  • Establish oneself as an expert on all operational systems and processes across WRI. Be capable of build capacity of new staff at various levels on these systems and processes.
  • Support the roll out of trainings on new and existing processes and systems to Operations teams in all the international offices as necessary
  • Work with the team to establish an internal communications function within the global delivery teams, streamlining roll out of initiatives and outreach efforts

What will you need:

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, operations management, or a related field. Specialized certifications in business process management (BPM), such as Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP), can be beneficial
  • Experience: You have 6 years full-time work experience in in business process management, process improvement, or related roles
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing, designing, and implementing business processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proven track record of successfully leading process improvement initiatives and driving measurable results
  • Experience in using process modeling tools and methodologies such as BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation), Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar approaches
  • Strong project management skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams through process improvement projects
  • Familiarity with industry-specific processes and best practices relevant to the organization's sector
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in process mapping and modeling software such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant business software
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics used to measure process performance and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Leadership abilities to inspire and motivate teams to achieve process improvement goals
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify root causes of issues and develop practical solutions
  • Change management skills to navigate organizational change and facilitate adoption of new processes and technologies
  • A commitment to staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in business process management
  • Languages: Verbal and written English proficiency required. Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hindi, or Bahasa proficiency would be a plus
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization
