Overview

Collect price data for the Place-to-Place Survey.

You have:

  • Has international shopping experience and knowledge of the local market.
  • Is independent and not affiliated with any UN organization at the duty station (Suva, Fiji).
  • Has lived in Suva for at least one year (preferably an expatriate).
  • Can travel around Suva using public or private transport.
  • Is fluent in English, French, or Spanish and can communicate effectively with local vendors.
  • Holds at least a High School Diploma.
  • Has experience in statistics, economics, project management, auditing, accounting, finance, or sales/marketing (an asset).
  • Is available to complete the assignment within the specified timeframe.

The United Nations in Suva, Fiji is seeking a Pricing Agent to support the upcoming Place-to-Place Survey scheduled for September 2025. This important survey, conducted by the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC), helps ensure fair and accurate cost-of-living assessments for UN staff stationed globally.

About the Role As a Pricing Agent, you will collect price data from designated retail outlets frequented by UN staff. Your work will directly contribute to the UN’s efforts in maintaining equitable compensation standards across duty stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review all survey instructions and guidelines provided by ICSC.
  • Develop a strategic plan for data collection from approved retail outlets.
  • Accurately record price data using official pricing forms.
  • Complete a questionnaire on local market conditions.
  • Submit all documentation to the Survey Coordinator by the end of the assignment.
  • Remain available for follow-up queries or clarifications.
