Preparation of a national event on healthy diet for primary school children of Kyrgyzstan

The optimized school meals programme aims to ensure that all primary school-aged children have access to safe, adequate and nutritious food all-year round. At the moment, more than 850 schools in the Kyrgyz Republic have replaced "bun and tea" with hot diverse healthy meals. However, we still have to deal with a lack of understanding of healthy diet basics among youth. The goal of the event to be prepared is to explain to school-age children in plain language and in an interesting way why a healthy diet is important.

During the assignment, online volunteers will assist the Policy and Partnerships Unit of UN WFP Country Office in Kyrgyzstan in the organization of a national event for all school students of Kyrgyzstan on healthy diet basics. The team of online volunteers will work together on the development of an event plan (the event will be held by schoolteachers in classes country-wide) where we will explain why a healthy diet really matters. Get ready to be creative, let’s do it interesting and persuasive!

Great motivation to prepare an interesting and persuasive event is required :) Bachelor degree or equivalent in Psychology, School Education, Communication, Nutrition, Social Behaviour Change Communication or any related field. Work or volunteer experience with school-age children is highly desirable. Experience in the development of activities, methodological manuals, etc is a great advantage.
