- At least 5 years of progressive experience in data analytics with Power BI is required.
- Experience in Power BI data import and report creation is required.
- Experience with Azure Cognitive Services is desirable.
- Microsoft Power BI certification is desirable.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all Special Political missions, Agencies, Funds and Programmes of the UN system worldwide.
This position is located in the ICT Service Support Unit, Service & Information Security Management Section, within the Service for Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies at the UNGSC. The incumbent of the position will perform the function remotely. The Incumbent reports to and works under the supervision of the Chief, ICT Service Support Unit.
Within limits of delegated authority, the Power BI Specialist will be responsible for the following duties: - Develop and enhance Power BI reports for the IT monitoring and Tier1 services - Migrate existing reports to Power BI and joint use with Excel - Data processing and update to Power BI - Configure Data ingestion from different sources - Create calculated Columns and Measures - Create dynamic formulas and visualizations - Manage Datasets - Data Model optimization - Manage Query Editor and DAX formulas - Define roles and accesses - Automate creation of report content - Improve the report design “look and feel” - Enable and improve reporting features and display - Include additional monitoring data in the reports e.g. for TETRA and Azure monitoring - Use of Azure Cognitive Services functionalities to improve PowerBI reports (eg: correction of ingested data manually created) - Create technical documentation for the migration procedure and report creation
Qualifications/special skills High School Diploma or above is required. At least 5 years of progressive experience in data analytics with Power BI is required. Experience in Power BI data import and report creation is required. Experience with Azure Cognitive Services is desirable. Microsoft Power BI certification is desirable.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
