Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (2)

The Role:

The Design Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) Officer will provide overall technical support in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on assigned projects in Somaliland. The DME Officer will also help plan and implement organization-wide DME activities on other similar projects when required. S/he will oversee the implementation of accountability affected population processes and system within the projects geographical scope and provide timely and relevant information to the project staff for decision making

Essential:

  • A university degree in Social Sciences/ Statistics/ Community Development/ Development Studies or any related field.
  • Analysis using quantitative and qualitative methods including use of participatory methods and tools for planning, monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Knowledge of the SPHERE standards, Humanitarian Accountability Partnership; other international humanitarian standard and other capacity building skills.
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in community-based programming, or work with NGOs or humanitarian agencies of which at least two years must be in MEAL, with a bias to Livelihood, Nutrition, and Relief.
  • Application of mobile data collection, preparation of questionnaires and XLS forms, data management and analysis, and preparation of high-quality analytical reports.
  • Working knowledge of English and Somali local language
  • Computer literacy is required working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Statistical Package as SPSS

Working Environment:

The position is field-based in Hargeisa, Somaliland with frequent travel to other target project locations.
