Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the internship position encompass all aspects of the Directorate’s work. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Assist in planning and organizing meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars and other CTED events; • Assist in preparing documents needed for setting up arrangements for the organization of CTC/CTED meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars and other events; • Assist in preparing background notes, talking points for meetings, missions and other events attended by CTED staff; • Research, draft and update country profiles and other background documents in preparation for high-level meetings and other events; • Attend and take notes at meetings, conferences and other relevant events; assist in the preparation of summaries and reports of discussions; • Assist in other ad-hoc activities as instructed
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate degree programme in political science, international relations, disarmament, security, conflict resolution or related area (e.g., LLB., JD, LLM, PhD.) in international affairs or political science.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this internship, fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an asset.
